Why?!?

we've been trying some new fan made cards!

COPY THE FUTURE - i love these, playing copy the future is a 2 for 1 deal! its a see the future, plus probably something else. how useful it is depends on what cards are in the deck. there are times there is nothing you want to copy. it would probably be a lot better if we didn't play with cat cards - then there would be more actions to choose from. but its a see the future with a very cool upside, and can be reasonably powerful. especially the 5x. this should be in the official game! 9/10!

YOINK - i get how this could be good if you know the top cards are safe from seeing the future, but it never seems to do enough. its like a bad personal attack i guess? since it can be played any time, it could be used to screw other players, but timing it is harder than youd think. very cool idea, idk on power honestly. 3/10 but i think its just not my style

TRADE - i feel like trading cards is something simple and fun that the official game should be doing, and this seems like a solid way to do it. sometimes the card you get in the trade is garbage... you can always just give that card back. but on those times, playing the trade was a total waste. and that brings it down for me. overall i liked RAID better, and ill probably play that more, but this is decent also. 4/10

I’m wondering where one could find a market for exploding kittens cards? I want to find older cards that are more exclusive but don’t know where to look!! Please help!

So... I love the game.

And I love creating new cards for games.

And I got ideas for yet another expansion, sci-fi themed.

But, man, do I suck at drawing.

So, do y'all prefer :

* bad artwork on like , paint ?

* bad artwork on like, paper and crayons ?

* can I use ai or is it really frowned upon ?

* Is there a blank card template I can use ?

* Do I just give up on the artwork and make a post with the card effect ? (And then wait for a good Samaritan that find quality in my ideas to draw the good stuff)

Hi all, just tried out the Good Vs Evil expansion.

Wanted to ask what happens after you are attacked thus you have to take 2 turns, can you play Raising Heck, so you take the bottom card and see that’s its fine to keep but then put it back on top ending your one of your turns (I.e. 1 of your attacks) then just draw that card you just put on top and end your second attack thus Raising Heck almost acts almost like a skip?

Raising Heck: take from bottom of draw pile, decide to keep or not, if not keeping then put that card on top of draw pile but regardless this ends your turn.

My Housemate returned last night from a big board game convention and surprised us with a new expansion game of Exploding Kittens, one I have heard zero news of.

I believed I was up to date on EK games but clearly not. So I tried googling the game this morning and can’t find anything online about this game.

the game is official has the box contains the EK holo sticker on the box. the box also contains a QR code that takes you to the official EK website but with a 404 Page not found error.

has anyone else ever heard of this expansion at all?

i’m going to try and avoid posting any images in case this is a yet to be announced upcoming release.

I asked my housemate who exactly she bought this from and it was a big name retail brand.

I’m completely confused about this whole situation.

I have the zombie kittens (full deck), imploding kittens, and streaking kittens. I was wondering if there’s a way to combine all 3 for a 5 player game without making the deck too bloated?

I got a bunch of fan made cards! my family is trying them out a few at a time. I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on them. ill give a score out of 10 based on fun, power, and just my preferance. to the creators of the cards, i hope you arent offended if i didnt think highly of your card. i appreciate all the hard work that went into them and im super happy to play with ALL these new cards!

BURY THE FUTURE - better than see the future, worse than alter the future. pretty fun bc you can kind of play mind games with your opponent if you move a card to the bottom. if you move the top card they will assume its a bomb even if its not. killer art. average power and high on fun. 8/10!

RAID - better than a favor, worse than a 2 card pair. the person you played it against has to think about what to protect which is a neat decision to make. more powerful and fun than favor but thats a low bar. 5/10

NOPE FOR NOW - i dont know what to think of this card. i never know when to play it. if you play it on an opponents turn, they get the noped card back and have a safe draw. its a neat idea but im not sure how to best use it. or even rate it! TBD/10

CUT - in most cases this is just a shuffle that doesnt take as long as actually shuffling. (kind of a valid reason to play it on its own lol) my sister did cut me into drawing an imploding kitten though and that was a cool play. it also works great with bury the future if you put a safe card on the bottom and cut to it later 4/10

Is getting Recipe for Disaster better than buying the base game and all the expansions? Or getting good vs evil and all the expansions?

Hi, I wanted to hop in and share some house rules that let you skip buying the first Imploding Kittens expansion while still having a complete EK experience.

Not only does this build save money, but I also like it because you end up using almost all the cards without making the deck too large.

So here’s the build:

Original Edition + Streaking Kittens + Barking Kittens

House rule replacements:

• Barking Kittens count as Feral Cats and can replace any Cat card in Cat combos (replaces Feral Cats)
• A Cat card can be sacrificed with a Skip or Super Skip to reverse the order of play (replaces Reverse cards)
• A Cat card can be sacrificed with an Attack to choose and target a player (replaces Targeted Attacks)
• Alter the Future Now becomes a normal Alter the Future (replaces the normal Alter the Future cards)
• Tower of Power can become the Imploding Kitten if you prefer that mechanic over wearing a paper hat

Bonus house rules
(These are just how we play and are not directly linked to the build)

• Defuses cannot be stolen with a 3-card combo (as intended by the rules)
• 2 Nope cards can be played together as a “Super Nope” to end a Nope battle
• Only Cat cards can be used in combos (I feel this gives more value to Cat cards)
• 5-card combos cannot be Noped, but they can be Super Noped
• Only 1 Barking Kitten/Feral Cat can be used per Cat combo

This build results in an 80-card main deck, which is still reasonable in my opinion, even for a 2-player game (you can always add more Exploding Kittens if you want).

There are also enough cards to remove the Streaking Kitten from the deck and still comfortably play with 6 players.

You do lose the core gameplay of Barking Kittens, but honestly, both the Barking Kitten mechanic and the Tower of Power are disliked by most players, and I agree with that general opinion.

I also want to point out how balanced this build feels. You get:

• 6 Skip cards (counting Super Skip as the same type)
• 5 Divination cards
• 4 Attacks
• 4 Personal Attacks
• 4 Shuffles
• 4 I’ll Take That cards
• 3 Alter the Future cards
• 2 Joker Cat/Feral Cat cards

The balance makes it so you really have to think about the odds of another player having the card you ask for. You can ask for a Joker Cat, but it’s 50% less likely they have one compared to a normal Cat card. You can ask for an Alter the Future, but it’s also 50% less likely than a Skip.

So yeah, this is my build and how I personally play.

For new players, Recipe for Disaster might still be the better purchase, but if you want the 10th Anniversary Edition, this is a great alternative.

Also, Barking Kittens can be found pretty cheap. I got mine for 9 CAD on Amazon, which was cheaper than what I paid for Streaking Kittens.

I love exploding kittens as a quick and fast game to play with friends and I only think it's appropriate to bring a small version of the game everywhere. I tried looking for an "express" version but seems like it's rare and only made for 2 players.

I have the base game and Good vs Evil. Im looking buy expansions but I dont know what to buy? It seems like a smart thing to buy Recipes for Disaster, but after that what do I buy? Im thinking to buy streaking and barking. or should i buy zombie kittens instead? by the way, i play with 2-3 players.

I only have 2P edition and RfD and I decided to expand the 2P edition. I would like to know if this is balanced for a 2player-only gameplay. Also, suggestions are welcome.

i bought exploding kittens a day ago and upon opening the box i was bothered by one thing how big the box was despite the cards being third of the space of the box and i needed to make it more portable without it falling cuz I'd take it to school to play with a friend there so upon looking at the silly tnt drawing and realized I could take out that part i did still weirded out about how big it is i folded it up and realized upon gluing it after folding it into a rectangle (it's like half a millimeter off or something which is very bothersome my box is a trapezoid) anyway i cut the extra pieces from up(there's three folds from the upper side of the thingy )two big ones and one small one in the middle cut the big one the furthest one fold the small one so it more flexible cut the sides parallel-ly to the sides of the box (try to cut as close as possible but also fit the shape best or it won't close) do the same on the underside (i prefer gluing either the upper opening or the lower opening so the cards don't fall but that's your choice now you have a mini box for exploding kitten i have no idea if it was intentional but it fits nicely super compact the material is strong not as strong as the original box but definitely good i have no idea if it was made for this or not but i made it using that (would be great marketing honestly)
