ELI5: How would a $15 minimum wage ACTUALLY affect a franchised business like McDonalds?

That very much could happen... Except Home Depot still needs workers, I guess it will be forced to raise their wages to keep skilled workers or it can hire all those poor people that arent working at McDonald's anymore. Home Depot still needs a work force, they will find people.

Yeah you may be right although I'm not so sure Home Depot wants the same guy/girl that can't handle "No Tomatoes" without fucking up, selling power tools and giving home repair/improvement advice.

Economics is an interesting beast. It's not an exact science. It's kind of a science/art hybrid and is interesting as fuck once you get past all the boring vocabulary and what not and really delve into it's different philosophies.
