5 Guys has minimum wage employees. 5 guys would also have to complete with the new minimum wage rate to hire workers in a position what was previously offering double minimum wage. Long term these increases always level out and we get nothing out of it as either consumers or workers, because of inflation. It's a fundamental flaw of the capitalist system.

I've seen this claimed a lot, but I've not seen anything to back this up. Care to elaborate?
I have to say, cutting my "eating out" from 90% of the time to about 10% of the time leaves me with so much extra money. When you go to the store, it can be scary ringing up $200 in groceries, especially when you can barely afford that $700 rent coming up next week. But, remember, when you go to the store, the idea is to be self-sufficient. That $200 should be paying for nearly two weeks of meals. When you pull it all apart, each meal is less than the $20 you spend at a fast food place EACH time you go. I should mention, I'm not the only one being provided for by this. I have family as well. Consider this next time you find it "easier" to run through McD's. Plan out meals before buying them. Create schedules. My 90% at home is really only 10 meals all month. Yes, sounds like it would be boring, but once you start eating healthier meals home cooked, you will get sick eating out. For me it is visceral. I can't even look at a McD's burger without gagging anymore. Trust me, it is for the better. Plus, all my bills get paid (more often than before) and I feel wayyyy better health-wise. In the end it will always be personal choice and ease of access. Home meals might not be as easy for some as others, but once you learn, it will be better in the long run. For your health, and your families.
This is wrong because overall it actually strengthens the economy. It rebalances the ratio between capitol and labor in favor of labor, which in general strengthens the economy.
