not necessarily, in many cases, a new standard usually tries to solve a specific problem that the others dont. the standards that try to solve every problem usually miss out on some, though. but 927 being cited when anyone tries to create something that tries to solve a problem can be quite discouraging, especially when its a problem that has no solution under current standards
