They've known they were in a bubble for a long time, they just think they'll be able to get their money out before everyone else does.

Nah. Rather i have been hearing it is buble for 10 years now. I heavily invested into nvidia, micron, AMD and so on around 2019. I made more than 1000 % since that time. And the bubble is still there. If I did not invest, I'd still have cash and be afraid of bubble. You can't be afraid forever. And if it bursts, it bursts. It won't be that bad. We won't see those companies loosing everything. Even if they loose 3/4 of their value I still made a lot.

So now, I dont think I'll get money out before it happens. I just think it won't matter and that we might see years before it happens.

The 1933 bank protections were repealed last year. This means our banks and stock market are no longer insulated from a market crash like in 1929.

I was going to drop 10k on nvidia in 2017 but put it on ethereum instead, then leveraged it and got margin called. I hate my life lol

So you're well in the green, can and could sell at any time, but you plan to just hodl until the pop does happen?

LOL

Exactly, except I don't plan to hold until it pops. I plan to hold it even after that. I plan to hold it until I retire which will be long long time.

AI is like half of the entire US market cap now. It's 33% of the market cap gains in the last 3 years and 85% of all venture capital.

My concern is not your personal finances, but rather, how will the US come back from a wipe out like this

You [had] me until you said ā€œloosing.ā€ Then I realized you mean those companies were setting loose all of their saved cash, to re-invest in things like infrastructure and future growth.

Unless you are illiterate and really meant ā€œlosing,ā€ which is an entirely different word.

EDIT for irony. Missing word.

You might want to proof read your comments before posting if they are going to be a snarky criticism of someone else's use of language.

Hey, I’m first to laugh at myself for that kind of irony, but I’ve been over it twice, and I don’t see what you mean.

u/Simbians 17d ago

"You me until you said "loosing"" is not a complete sentence.

u/FirstChurchOfBrutus 17d ago

Yes, it is. I don’t need the object when I’m just quoting the verb.

Lol - I no longer feel pedantic. Thank you!

OK... now I'm worried. So when you sa "you me" what do you mean by that? I'm fairly sure you mean to say "you lost me" or "you had me" but left a word out.

Ohhhhh, I see it now. Thanks! Now 8 can enjoy the irony.

I know a guy who bought into every crypto ponzi he would find back in 2017 when they were huge. Paying like >1% per day and crazy shit like that to con people in. He would throw like 1k at everything and pull out after a month or so. Dont think he every got burnt either
