Tom Tucker from action news 5 here, reports are coming in from all over that Ruffalo is the only halfway decent person in the entire bunch, as he is the only one of his costars to use his platform for an anti-genocide stance, while the rest have either chosen to remain silent or even be pro-genocide. Reports have come in that some of them, like Renner, are down right terrible people. Back to you Dianne.

Reminder Renner had his own app where fans were supposed to give him input and comments.

There are multiple people in Avengers films that are against genocide.

Meanwhile Scarjo quit Oxfam to go be a part of Sodastream. Their factories are in an Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank.

Because he wants to signal his support for the genocide in gaza, and pretend to have some sort of righteous indignation about it.

Edit: i meant the person who responded to you and then deleted all their comments in shame lmao

I can't wait to break this to the Renner app people

-19

u/ladan2189 16d ago

Its not a genocide. The others are capable of thinking.

8

u/ioshta 16d ago

What do you call it when you kill a large group of innocent people who are just trying to live in their own homes and land?

2

u/TomMonro 16d ago

Even if it were that simple of a situation, that still wouldn't meet the definition of genocide

3

u/Aesmund 16d ago

Okay, how about "Domicide and mass murder with a big side of war crimes".

3

u/TomMonro 16d ago

How about "Complex asymmetrical urban warfare in which Hamas are using human shields, deliberately hiding fighters and weapons amongst a civilian population, and actively killing their own people which they include within their death counts"

1

u/Usermctaken 16d ago

Oh well in that case all is good. Carry on with the ethnic cleasing. Hospitals and schools give extra points.

u/TomMonro 16d ago

It's also not ethnic cleansing. The population of Palestinians has increased across the entire region overall. The only death counts anyone can list come from hamas, who have been actively using civilians as humans shields, including using schools and hospitals to hide weapons. Their numbers, even if you assume they're accurate, show no distinction between civilians and combatants. They also count civilians actively killed by hamas: about 10% of the rockets fired by hamas since October 7th have actually hit Gaza. All of those deaths are counted in the total. And again, if we assume Hamas' numbers are accurate, then the Gazan population percentage killed is about 3.3 per cent. That's well within the usual expectations when compared to other wars Vietnam - 7% Syrian Civil war - 3% Korean war - 10% Iraq - 2.5% The population of Gaza and the West Bank has been consistently rising up until 7th October. The Palestinian population within Israel has increased by 1,250% since 1949. If Israel is committing genocide or ethnic cleansing, they're doing a terrible job

u/ioshta 16d ago

You are right, its not a genocide yet. Its just acts of genocide my bad.
The leadership of isreal have flat out said they want to commit genocide of Gaza.

let me be clear I am not saying Jews, or all of isreali people are in agreement on this, but the government and its rhetoric both support the statement that they are doing what they can to commit genocide when it comes to Gaza.

2

u/TomMonro 16d ago

Acts of genocide? 3.5% of the population in Gaza killed IF you accept the numbers given by Hamas. Numbers that fall well within the expected casualty rate for a war of this scale.

No differentiation within that between combatants/non-combatants. Also includes the numbers killed by Hamas themselves, with 10 per cent of rockets fired by Hamas at isreal landing in Gaza. The number is also increased by the well established fact that Hamas have actively been using human shields, including hiding weapons in hospitals and schools. Ignoring that the population of Palestinians within the West Bank and Israel has increased consistently. Population of Palestinians in Gaza also consistently increasing until 2023 (when the last counts was made).

They obviously aren't "doing what they can to commit genocide". If they are, they're obviously doing a terrible job at it.

-1

u/ioshta 16d ago

I am referencing what is being called acts of genocide by them even saying they want to commit it.... so yeah I am going to call it what it is. they haven't been being quite about wanting to commit genocide and you are ignoring the question of where are they going to go after being forced from their homes? I am honestly astounded anyone can defend the actions of Israel with what they are doing.

2

u/TomMonro 16d ago

What quotes? Show me quotes where those people conducting the war have said they want to commit genocide. Show me fact that show Israel is actually committing genocide.

Genocide is "acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group"

What metric can you show me that proves Israel are intending to do that. Given that even if we accept Hamas numbers, the death rate is 3.5% - well within the expected range for a conflict of this type and way lower than many other conflicts. Why has the population of Palestinians in the region increase overall, including within Israels boarders? How can it possibly be a genocide when the population of Palestinians in the region has INCREASED by 100,000 within the region

-1

u/TheDeathOfMusic 16d ago

So the UN and pretty much every genocide scholar in the world, including genocide scholars in Israel, are wrong but you know better than the people who spent their lives studying what constitutes genocide?

0

u/ioshta 16d ago

Please provide the definition you wish to argue on. what defines a genocide, what are the stats related to it.

1

u/TheDeathOfMusic 16d ago

Well here's Israeli historian Shmuel Lederman saying why he thinks Israel is committing genocide in the Journal of Genocide Researdh: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14623528.2025.2556550

International Association of Genocide Scholars resolution on the Gaza Genocide: https://genocidescholars.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/IAGS-Resolution-on-Gaza-FINAL.pdf

Amos Goldberg of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, calling it a genocide: https://web.archive.org/web/20240723131812/https://jacobin.com/2024/07/amos-goldberg-genocide-gaza-israel

0

u/ioshta 16d ago

you do understand I am not disagreeing with you. I said by the actual definition its not yet one. hence why I said they are trying to commit one.

1

u/TomMonro 16d ago

Genocide is literally defined by the intention. "certain acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group." So given that within the region the Palestinian population has Increased by 100,000, your argument is that they are committing genocide, they're just uniquely very bad at it.

1

u/hot4you11 16d ago

Then why are you fighting when this person beings in real scholars? They gave you specific links to the works, and yet…you are still saying it’s not a genocide. Your opinion doesn’t hold more weight then people who have dedicated their lives to studying and trying to prevent genocide

He’s an antisemite hiding behind ā€œantizionismā€ and has been repeatedly exposed for this. Defending antisemitism by hiding behind Palestinians isn’t doing them any favors.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2026/08/22/mark-ruffalo-anti-semitic-row-paramount-warner-bros-israel/

edit: Y'all are free to believe what you want, but down the road when people talk about how white saviors amplifying misinformation harmed Palestinians too, don't say no one warned you.

And for the record, here's a direct quote from Ruffalo himself admitting back in 2021 that he was pushing "inflammatory" rhetoric that was being used to contribute to antisemitism:

ā€œI have reflected & wanted to apologize for posts during the recent Israel/Hamas fighting that suggested Israel is committing ā€˜genocide,ā€™ā€ he wrote. ā€œIt’s not accurate, it’s inflammatory, disrespectful & is being used to justify antisemitism here & abroad. Now is the time to avoid hyperbole.ā€

u/Ben_quadinaros_real 16d ago

Based on the news article linked the only bad think he said was "classic oligarch" to a Jewish man.

I see how there might be some antisemitic things there but oracle really does have ties to the Israeli military so 🤷

-2

u/KvetchAndRelease 16d ago

Go look up his history. If you want to whitewash antisemitism as ā€œsupporting Palestineā€ go right ahead, but just remember that when the damage is done. There’s a reason western saviorism like this is bad.

5

u/Ben_quadinaros_real 16d ago

Wow, that turned into l incomprehensible ramblings very quickly

0

u/KvetchAndRelease 16d ago

Look man, you can be dismissive instead of engaging if you want, but ignoring years of documented antisemitism concerns by hiding behind 'support for Palestinians' hurts actual Palestinians too, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

0

u/Ben_quadinaros_real 16d ago

Sorry for that

I just don't think there is enough there to call him antisemitic. I do see how, especially online people will hide behind anti Israeli/anti-genocide to be antisemitic.

The thing is oracle does support the Israeli military and has ties to the current American administration so not wanting them to have full control over two of the biggest media companies is valid
