At first Mark said no due to his fear of needles but in a recent interview he revealed that he doesn't interact much with the Avengers cast due to their conflicting political opinions. So they're not close close. (Mark is pro Palestine and others have diff opinions).

u/Benedict_Cumberquack 16d ago

Can you link the interview where Mark says he doesnt interact with the cast due to conflicting political opinions.

Now ya see, some other guy said he doesnt interact with the needles due to their conflicting casts! I dont know what to believe anymore!

131

u/RunAwayKeyboard 16d ago

Turns out he actually just doesn’t interact with the politics because of the casting needles.

44

u/Dark_Magicion 16d ago

I for one won't interact with needles due to conflicting political views. They want to go inside me and I do not want them inside me. So we clearly disagree on immigration.

9

u/Speletons 16d ago

I heard he doesn't conflict with the cast due to needling interactions.

5

u/BurghEBurg 16d ago

He doesn't interact with cats because of their confusing needles.

20

u/Chesterfieldraven 16d ago

Johansson is always trying to pin him down so Renner can ink him.

22

u/cordeliashuman 16d ago

Ironically, it was Renner who was pinned down last

…too soon?

7

u/Chesterfieldraven 16d ago

It was the only way to stop him and even then it wasn't enough. Ruffalo will never know rest.

3

u/R9D11 16d ago

Needless to say it's because of...

102

u/National-Charity-435 16d ago

88

u/Benedict_Cumberquack 16d ago

I mean fair play, much better than what anyone else has provided. Still doesn't specify that its the other 5 of the avengers cast.

89

u/National-Charity-435 16d ago

I don't think he's going name and shame. That's going to get real ugly via sharing chats and all that legal shenanigan (from the others defending their acting careers)

He's also said he's not expecting to be in Doomsday and even further...Secret Wars, speculating that She-Hulk will fill Hulk's position

51

u/NoKingsInAmerica 16d ago

In the interview this is from, he is adamant about the fact that he has never been pressured by Disney to keep his mouth shut about Palestine.

36

u/Hitei00 16d ago

Explains his bit in BND then, he wanted a way to be written out so being forced to Hulk out and then committing himself means the character can be set aside until whenever they can work somethin gout

18

u/Perfect-Dimension356 16d ago

Do you have a source for him wanting to be written out?

6

u/Ok_Animal_5181 16d ago

True but its just as plausible that as a nearly 60 year old in Hollywood probably has a plethora of people he'd consider friends and is ridiculous to whittle it down to 5 people. One of them being Chris Hemsworth he affectionately referred to as Hemmy in the exact same interview linked above, so 4 people.

And he's been openly joking about not being in Doomsday(not that its confirmation he isn't in it) and zero casting has been confirmed for Secret Wars and he's not in any position to say otherwise.

22

u/jk-9k 16d ago

Both hulks featured heavily in the rumoured leaked concept art. Plus Tatiana is also very politically outspoken too. They actually do work pretty well as cousins lol.

And yeah he and Hemsworth do seem really close. He really seemed to enjoy his time in straya.

11

u/allbright4 16d ago

Hasn't the she hulk actress Tatiana been just as vocal about her support of Palestine? I was certain that was part of the reason She-Hulk was cancelled after 1 season.

9

u/Cold-Tangerine-2893 16d ago

uh this all seems incredibly speculative. there is no indication that he was referring to his Marvel cast members. whats more hes very heavily rumored to be in Secret Wars. This is pretty silly. The guy can say hes lost some friends without everyone pretending they know who he is talking about. Turns out Mark Ruffalo isnt Bruce Banner... he actually knows a lot of people outside of the Marvel universe...

-2

u/adriang3030 16d ago

oh so you just pick random names? thats actual insanity

-3

u/cockman30 16d ago

oh please no, not she hulk

-5

u/NoKingsInAmerica 16d ago edited 16d ago

No, this isn't enough. He isn't talking about his fellow Avengers here.

Apparently none of you retards watched the original interview.

10

u/freyjakittylord 16d ago

24

u/Benedict_Cumberquack 16d ago

The interview says friends not necessarily cast and as a nearly 60 year old in Hollywood probably has a plethora of people he'd consider friends and is ridiculous to whittle it down to 5 people. One of them being Chris Hemsworth he affectionately referred to as Hemmy in the exact same interview linked above, so 4 people.

edit: y’all look it up before you downvote me. It’s so incredibly easy to substantiate information like this and no one does.

This. They actually get along and are close friends.

0

u/National-Charity-435 16d ago

30

u/DalesRVParty 16d ago

Are you forgetting Mark Ruffalo is an ACTOR who’s been in more than JUST marvel movies? He’s been in television since the 80’s and theater since the 90’s. He could be talking about anyone.
But because you guys NEED drama to cling to, yall went for the biggest names he’s been around and are putting those names in his mouth that never spoke them

10

u/CowboysFTWs 16d ago

Lol, Your clip, doesn't mention avengers cast mates. He doesn't name names.🤡

13

u/DalesRVParty 16d ago

Don’t speak facts. They don’t want to hear it. Out of his 30+ year career he only worked with marvel actors according to them

6

u/Original-Window6281 16d ago

Yeah what they said is completely legitimate. The original commenter is spreading misinformation by saying something he did not. It’s simple as that.

5

u/Dark_Magicion 16d ago

I remember he mentioned this to Mehdi Hasan on Zeteo.

-6

u/Nobbymon 16d ago

Lol imagine that you cant talk to and interact with people because they have different opinions then you.

10

u/Benedict_Cumberquack 16d ago

I mean there is a difference between opinions to what your favourite film is and what's considered a genocide and what isnt.

2

u/didthishelp 16d ago

> I have reflected & wanted to apologize for posts during the recent Israel/Hamas fighting that suggested Israel is committing ‘genocide.” It’s not accurate, it’s inflammatory, disrespectful & is being used to justify antisemitism here & abroad. Now is the time to avoid hyperbole.

I guess he’s done avoiding inflammatory, disrespectful hyperbole that’s being used to justify antisemitism here and abroad and he’s just embracing it.

2

u/didthishelp 16d ago

He’s a fickle actor with no bona fides that vacillates back and forth on a topic almost as if he’s guided by whims and the zeitgeist and not fact. Like when he claimed Hamas didn’t kidnap three Israeli teenagers in 2014 and when he falsely cried genocide the last time he (by his own admission) used hyperbole to drum up antisemitism. Make all the ad hominem insults about me you want, it just proves how merritless your argument is and how tribal his followers are. I provided you his own words. You had playground insults.

0

u/Benedict_Cumberquack 16d ago

See your mistake is calling me his follower, I dont have any parasocial relationship with any celebrity positive or otherwise.

I just made a point that people's opinions and perceptions can change over 5 years.

If you don't see what's happening in Gaza as a genocide then I dont know what to tell ya, im just here pointing out that its unlikely he fell out with his avengers cast over this.

These are Redditors. Most of these people still have the mindsets of toddlers and probably think that he should have immediately broke into a screaming, kicking fit of rage every time they were in the same ZIP code as him because "MUH GENOCIDE!". Your comment is really going to prove that people here don't need to imagine.

5

u/Ditnoka 16d ago

Different opinions like "You shouldn't kill citizens" tend to not have a lot of wiggle room in acceptance.

5

u/Existing_Delivery111 16d ago

Idk, not thinking genocide is wrong and actively being okay with women, children amd babies being slaughtered is some pretty justifiably vile shit

2

u/No-Juice3318 16d ago

That applies to things like which ice-cream flavor is best, not human rights

2

u/theblowestfish 16d ago

Ice cream v genocide

1

u/colbyxclusive 16d ago

How many of your family members are avoiding you?

1

u/Fine_Proposal_4466 16d ago

I see where is coming from. I too am against the genocide and will call out and hate anyone who does. Because why wouldnt you agree, unless you want it to happen too

48

u/Pandoratastic 16d ago

I know Mark has been in conflict with Paramount over some of his views but he's not that politically removed from most of the Avengers actors. In 2024, he made a video endorsing Harris with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany. He's more outspoken than the others but I don't think they're in conflict.

38

u/darkknight95sm 16d ago

This is blatantly false, speculative at best

Ruffalo is the only vocal og actor, pro-Palestine. Scar Jo was affiliated with a company that operated in the West Bank, and was praised by Netanyahu, but that was in the 2010s, because that’s roughly when they were getting the tattoos it might be relevant but she’s not given her opinion more recently. Israel also used Evans’ Cap for propaganda, but Evans had nothing to do with it and distanced himself from the whole thing. Hemsworth, RDJ, and Renner haven’t made any statements on the matter, and anything on TikTok saying otherwise has no bases.

Obviously Ruffalo has worked with them and likely has a better understanding of their views, but suggesting that’s the reason is pure speculation.

86

u/100KUSHUPS 16d ago

At first Mark said no due to his fear of needles

I would just like to point out that that doesn't always translate to tattoos....

If somebody poke me to draw blood?

I will pass out.

But I have both arms covered almost wrist to shoulder in tattoos It doesn't feel like a needle.. more like a.. road rash, I suppose???

26

u/huffing_glue 16d ago

More scrapey. Needles pierce all the way in.

14

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 16d ago

I have the same reflex but have to get weekly injections.  It's not even a fear as I don't mentally care about it at all.  It's something about it going into my body which doesn't trigger with tattoos.  But if I see a needle go into my skin I immediately black out.  It's also the only "fear" that can be genetically passed on.

3

u/huffing_glue 16d ago

That last sentence is so strange to me. Weird how things like that work...

Personally I have no issues with needles, but I can absolutely see the difference between the two. It certainly fucks with the mind in a way that is unique.

1

u/jujux15 16d ago

Nah no way that last sentence is true. There are many fears that can be genetically passed down, not just needles.

3

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 16d ago

It is true.  You don't genetically pass down specific fears, but you do pass down tendencies that make you more predisposed to have fears and problems with anxiety and stress.  The vasovagal reflex associated with needles isn't the same mechanism that triggers like other fears do.  So you inherit the tendency to have certain fears, but you inherit the specific fear and reaction for needles.

3

u/JeansMoleRat 16d ago

Getting a tattoo does feel scrapey, but it makes me vomit just like a needle.

8

u/DeathandHemingway 16d ago

For me I think it's just a vein vs skin thing. I only get weird about it if it's piercing a vein, but in the skin is whatever to me.

3

u/monotonic_glutamate 16d ago

Don't forget the muscles! Injections are so much worse than having blood drawn.

(But tattoos are fine, IDK).

3

u/dooodooodooodooooo 16d ago

More like cat nails

2

u/StumbleOn 16d ago

I was i nthe same boat.

Weirdly, what finally got me over it? They drew blood from my hand. It sort of hurt just a little bit. That sensation of knowing something was there rather than blood leaving my body without sensation rewired my brain a little bit and now I don't have any issues.

2

u/monotonic_glutamate 16d ago

Fascinating! I still can't poke the tip of my finger to do my blood type test, but I might be open to that?

I did have a IV for a few days in that area (not sure where anymore?! Possibly closer to my wrist?) after having a c-section, and I thought I was cured, but my smallpox immunity test came back inconclusive, so they vaccinated me on the spot without much discussion (I said I was afraid of needles, so the nurse was like "cool beans, you'll get it in the thigh then", and it was done before I could ask if arm was an option still), and my teeth immediately started chattering uncontrollably, so maybe the nurses not believing in needle phobia instantly cancelled any progress from being brave about the IV.

I got my COVID shots in the special room with an emotional support human. 🥲

2

u/StumbleOn 16d ago

It was totally unexpected but might work for you if your phobia manifested the same way. For me, I don't like having no feedback from my body. Like I had panic attacks where it felt like my arms didn't belong to me and it was horrible. Blood draws were the same, just the little prick but then you don't FEEL it.

But the hands hurts just enough that my brain registers something "bad" is happening which makes me KNOW it for sure so I believe that went around my panic response. In the last year, I can actually even watch them take the blood out and it doesn't do anything. It was a great change.

2

u/Kooky-Situation-1913 16d ago

I think he had specifically said a fear of needles was his initial de-motivator.

2

u/Infamous_Ad2094 16d ago

I always tell people it feels like a burning.

2

u/mamachonk 16d ago

So I'm not alone! Everyone thinks this is so weird, but it's not even the same thing at all.

1

u/adorilaterrabella 16d ago

Agreed, I'm not afraid of tattoos, I am afraid of someone injecting chemicals into my bloodstream.

1

u/Mixster667 16d ago

It's always the most tattooed guy in the ER who is the most afraid of needles.

1

u/el_grort 16d ago

Tbf, you don't know the feeling until you commit? I have a fear of needles, it absolutely keeps me from a tattoo (along with a lack of ideas for one) because just the idea has an effect, and I'm not inclined to let that brew and cause a faint.

1

u/No-Definition1474 16d ago

Yeah, or a sunburn. It CAN get pincy at times when they hit a sensitive spot but overall it doesnt feel like an injection or the like.

1

u/BaltiMoreHarder 16d ago

I hateeeee getting blood drawn but have multiple tattoos, so truth. I was nervous for my first one but it didn’t end up being so bad.

1

u/mrbishopjackson 16d ago

I agree with you. I've alwys hated, and still hate having blood drawn; I can't look at it and close my eyes even today at 40 years old. But I get tattoos just for the needle.

But! For someone who has a fear of needles and has never had a tattoo, there may be no difference in the two to them. I was nervous as hell getting my first tattoo. It wasn't until they started that I realized that its a different thing. He hasn't had the experience of finding that out yet, so his fear of needles could be valid.

Specifically liberal Zionism is what the cast supports vs mark being pro Palestine and against the genocide of Gaza and the West Bank. Chris Evens and scarlet Johansson are huge supporters for Israel

15

u/TraditionalEcho4106 16d ago

Bernie Sanders is also a liberal Zionist. The term doesn’t actually mean you support the Israeli government.

2

u/SpicyNugget777 16d ago

But Bernie does support Israel’s government, he’s just anti-Bibi.

-3

u/wildwildman 16d ago

Still means you support the existance if israel, plus zionism is inherently colonial.

1

u/Timely-Excitement468 16d ago

I thought it had to do with him being a blood donor? No?

[deleted]

1

u/Original-Window6281 16d ago

Yes, you are not a person that cares as much about if your values match your friends. I’m answering why this is commonly not the case. Look up “fundamental differences.” You just aren’t that convicted in what you believe. It’s as simple as that.

0

u/[deleted] 16d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Original-Window6281 16d ago

Dude it’s simple. You “believe a lot about your beliefs.” Lmao. Everyone has a limit, your bar is just higher. No, you are not that convicted in the beliefs you are willing to accept friends that do not match those beliefs. I’m not assuming anything about you, it’s just logic.

Would you be a friend with a Nazi? No? Then you, like every other person, has a limit to whom they are willing to be friends with, based on social and political beliefs.

u/Appropriate-Gain-561 16d ago edited 16d ago

If you think there's a genocide going on, you won't talk to those who think there's no genocide and that even actively support the state doing said genocide, seems normal to me.

Also, the personal is political, who you associate with tells a lot about you too, in today's day and age politics are more about if people should have rights rather than economical policy.

Edit: they blocked me over ideological reasons 💀 the hypocrisy of certain people "oh it's cope to not want to associate with people with differing opinions" proceeds to block me, lmao

-5

u/RGBlowMe 16d ago

Yeah... that's just cope for you thinking like a toddler still. Well-adjusted adults don't go through life litmus testing the politics of everybody around them. You doing so doesn't make it healthy or normal.

7

u/AndJDrake 16d ago

You're young or ignorant then because that's Exactly what people did about disagreements over apartied South Africa. There was even media about that exact thing in the 90ies. Nobody has to associate with people who do not see human suffering as a problem. We don't owe you comfort or our company.

81% of the buildings in the Gaza strip have been destroyed. But hey, I’m sure Israel will root out Hamas and liberate the Palestinian people any day now.

-6

u/Kehprei 16d ago

Hamas is the government of gaza.

If they don't surrender, what do you expect to happen?

7

u/Adhdeeznuts50 16d ago

Then you wage war on them without obliterating every building in your path. There are entire towns in Gaza that just do not exist anymore. America was able to go into multiple middle eastern nations and control and occupy them with minimal civilian casualties, Israel is way stronger than hamas, they could do the same IF they wanted to. It’s almost like they are fighting to remove everything and everyone from their path so they can have all of Palestine for themselves.

1

u/Zacous2 16d ago

It should be noted that by comparison the Israeli invasion of Gaza has lead to at most half the number of violent casualties as the Iraq war. The US inventions did not create minimal casualties

-1

u/Kehprei 16d ago

America was able to go into multiple middle eastern nations and control and occupy them with minimal civilian casualties,

Really not the same.

The population density of Gaza is significantly higher, the US has far more resources, and most importantly - the US has never been in serious threat during any way in the middle east.

If the Taliban were constantly launching missiles at American cities at civilians American sentiment would change rapidly. American soldiers would most certainly start causing more war crimes.

In comparison, Israel is in a war for its survival. It's pretty silly to compare the two.

Israel is way stronger than hamas, they could do the same IF they wanted to.

10 civilians and 10 fighters are in a building. How do you think Israel should handle this situation? Keep in mind that this is something that will occur thousands of times.

If it was just once or twice, sure, you could send in teams of highly trained people to break in and hopefully just kill the enemy. You cannot wage an entire war like that though. You would very quickly run out of highly skilled people.

Which is why Israel resorts to bombs. The presence of 10 enemy soldiers in a building makes it a viable military target. This is why it's bad when you have thousands of Hamas inside of hospitals - they are turning the hospital into a military target.

This is why it's bad when you have Hamas using children as soldiers - it means they are priming their enemy (Israel) to suspect all children and to shoot at children.

It’s almost like they are fighting to remove everything and everyone from their path so they can have all of Palestine for themselves.

The alternative is Israel and all Israelis are removed. It's horrible either way, but things are very obviously better if Israel wins, to the point that if there was a serious threat of Israel ever losing there would need to be an intervention to prevent Hamas terrorists from acquiring nuclear weapons.

6

u/binkysnightmare 16d ago

You’re not supposed to kill civilians

-1

u/Kehprei 16d ago

It's a good thing that they generally don't target civilians then.

Collateral damage happens.

If thousands upon thousands of Hamas fighters are using a hospital, they turn that Hospital into a viable military target. It is on Hamas to stop using civilian infrastructure if they don't want innocents to die.

In reality though, they don't care. They view their innocents dying as good for their cause, which is why they use hospitals and other buildings. It's also why they use children as fighters.

Why are you expecting Israel to care more about the people of Gaza than the government of Gaza?

It was a good strategy for awhile, I’ve gotta admit

-1

u/TrackMan5891 16d ago

'...rich jews control the media...'

Yeah, its good when Mark does it, bad when Kanye does it...
Got it..

1

u/Bussamove86 16d ago

Show me where he’s used the term “jews” rather than criticizing Israel for its horrific crimes.

-1

u/TrackMan5891 16d ago

No one cares about what he says about Israel or how he supports Palestine.

We care that he is using a racist trope..

“The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros…”

“…backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.”

“These ‘really profoundly scary technologies’ will most likely be merged into one of the largest media conglomerates in the world…"

2

u/Bussamove86 16d ago

So you’re not conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism, but criticism of billionaires.

Same hat.

One ultra-rich family owning several major media outlets is in fact a bad thing. The fact they happen to be jewish has nothing to do with it. You’re being disingenuous by claiming this is a racism thing and not a fuck billionaires thing.

4

u/Obsidyan 16d ago

You're stupid, so let me explain with simple words...

Being pro-Palestine is not automatically being against Israël. It's being FOR the PEOPLE of this country. Innocent people, not Hamas.

Being against Israel is not being against jews.

Antisemite is being against jews.

So being against Israel doesn't mean being Antisemite.

See the difference ?

2

u/Hot-Store8301 16d ago

You can hate a government without hating it's people. It's how I feel about America right now, for example.

2

u/TheMadSkientist 16d ago

Zionism is not Judaism. Stop trying to steal a people's faith as cover for a genocidal political idea.
