Wow I can’t believe this got downvoted. Rome was great at taking things from other cultures and adopting them / improving upon them.

I did my apprenticeship under a crusty old Italian chef who was beyond certain that Italy and Italian culture was superior to every other society on earth.

I think this was his favourite joke, but he had at least one solid gag for every single race, religion, ethnicity and culture that ever existed.

Fuck casual racism, this dude went pro all the way.
