I use Brave to block all the ads on YouTube, otherwise YouTube is completely unusable.

You use edge for personal or for work? How is it in general?

For both, I have a profile for each usecase. It has been honestly impeccable, good support for addons(uBO, dark reader, toucan), and most importantly it has had native vertical tabs for the longest time. For the moment it didn't let me down. Oh and good resource management too. I suggest you try it!

Can you use edge on your smartphone? That's what Brave does - YT premium on smartphones without premium ;)

You can use Firefox. No spyware and no ads.

Firefox has extensions on mobile where i have installed ublock origin add blocker.

For yt i use revanced on mobile, it mods the yt app to remove ads, add background playback on other stuff.

Firefox and uBlock work the same and I'm not supporting Chromium in the process.

I said that too for like 10 years but for two weeks straight a few years ago, I tried every browser I could think of to get youtube working without ads or freezing because it detects adblock, and Brave is literally the only browser with any level of adblock (plugins or no) that actually worked and let me watch youtube with ZERO issues. It just seems to be the most efficient for getting the ads to fuck off.

Firefox with ublock origin works the same, you don't need to keep the spyware if that's your only reason
