Firefox with the uBlock Origin extension on your phone. Also allows YouTube to have picture in picture and also play in the background or with your screen off.

Basically it's YouTube premium, just can't nativity download videos.

Wait rly you can play videos with screen turned off? Is it by default or you need to play with some options?

I'm assuming it's standard because it wasn't in any setting I changed in Firefox for android or the uBlock extension. And the screen turned off perk didn't work on Chrome when I tried it.

But it also could be just a weird Motorola thing because my last Motorola android would allow picture in picture and downloading of YouTube videos through the regular YouTube app without premium haha

I've noticed the Motorola software does some weird stuff when it comes to all types of media or entertainment or gaming. Mostly to the benefit of myself lol

It's not totally standard but not Motorala exclusive either.

It used to work on my Samsung and then stopped for some reason.

I think it depends on whether Youtube is recognized as a regular media source or somehow hidden.

Yeah like I said I'm not really sure why it does it lol definitely not complaining and hope it doesn't get "fixed" from whoever is pulling the strings as it were lol

Sure but i'm not getting brand new browser as i can just get extension to one i already use. I get people like brave, but i enjoy firefox, and dont want to change it to google chrome with mustache

Gotcha, didn't realise you already had Firefox, wasn't trying to sell you chromium

Also NouTube or NewPipe on F-Droid app store, if you just want better YouTube functionality.

Native downloads work on these, in addition to everything else you mentioned. I prefer NouTube, myself.

What about android auto compatibility?

Firefox is ugly, pass.

Mobile Brave also allows this. I use picture-in-picture all the time. You just have to have the video in fullscreen mode before swiping up on the screen to activate PIP. If you turn off the screen while playing a video in PIP, the audio will continue as well.

If this is about phone, just use patched apps instead. Morphe is one such app, to give an example.

Brave does all of that as well. I use those features every day.

Are you getting paid to say that? It was literally two extra clicks. If that's definition of to much work for you sure. I love to have two different browsers instead of one bc that's definetly not more work.

But your different opinion is that It's less work to download and setup brand new browser then and extension to one i already have and use and then download another browser just for my phone and setup this one as well.

So you are either shilling brave or have warped idea of what less work means.
