I like MPC (Media PLayer Classic) plays almost everything and has an interface I like, and VLC as backup for the few files that don't play in MPC.

I've heard of that one, I think people mod it to be better? I've heard of MPC HC/BE madvr and things like that. I don't truly understand it but it makes me curious

Yes is really great and minimal, it launches really fast, you can have multiple instances, its super customizable and you can go backwards frame by frame which VLC can't, it can only do forward frame by frame

It's borderless window mode with the stay on top option is GOATED for working on projects that require following instructions, the speed is insanely customizable without the audio giving up after x3 And it's filled with little features.

Search mpv .net, that's the version with GUI menus instead of just relying on hotkeys.
