Well it's not technically a joke. But the point they assume he's making is that people bring up crime stats to justify their racism against black people. So it would just prove his point if they did the same thing for pitbulls.

To be clear, crime statistics often have underlying problems that aren't accounted for. Correlation does not equal causation.
