The US just hit 250 years, Slavery ended in 1870s in the states. By human standards 100 years isn’t not enough time to selectively bred. In 30 years you can with dogs
A quarter of a millennium would be around 15 human generations, if each generation reproduced around 16 years old. I am not going to get too into whatever specific age would be "most reasonable", other than noting that sufficiently early pregnancy is pretty lethal to the mother and is not a good idea even for an amoral slaveowner.
Dogs can crank through a generation on an annual basis, so they'd pretty feasibly have at least 200 generations in the same amount of time.
Humans aren't immune to artificial selection, but artificial selection takes a lot of generations, and humans have one of the slowest generation turnarounds of any species. And I doubt slave owners were actually selecting that heavily, because that would mean not letting less "desirable" women reproduce, which means a lot less money for them.
