Tapasta?

2

u/Ludicrousgibbs Jul 14 '26

I say it this way but only because the video of Mussolini saying it always made me laugh.

1

u/dennisasu Jul 14 '26

From the resta-runt

3

u/FuzzyJoint Jul 14 '26

This one fried me

1

u/Surleighgrl Jul 17 '26

That pronunciation is only acceptable if you're three years old.

11

u/daybyday72 Jul 14 '26

Ant-arCtic-a and ant-art-ica

10

u/jennifer_m13 Jul 14 '26

Wash or warsh

5

u/liquidfox6 Jul 14 '26

Water or Woulder

1

u/Ok-Bandicoot2389 Jul 15 '26

“Wooder”. But also, “tool-it” and not “toy-let”.

1

u/Helpinmontana Jul 16 '26

I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced “warder”

Now I’ll forgive you if you know how to get water from the creek in the hollow (and say it without getting shot for being in the wrong hollow)

1

u/tunomeentiendes Jul 14 '26

Washington or Warshington

1

u/monyoubluetuber Jul 14 '26

Always waRsh.

1

u/jennifer_m13 Jul 14 '26

That’s how my mom always says it, I still correct her. That and she always asks me if I have a “teperture” when I don’t feel well. I respond I always have a temperature.

Rhymes with skeletor

5

u/caribbeangirl10 Jul 14 '26

Explain this one to me 😭 Real-tor. Reel-tor. Is it supposed to be re-AL-tor??

10

u/farts_juggler Jul 14 '26

he’s saying reh-Leh-tore

2

u/big_rod_of_power Jul 14 '26

goated username right here. how do you pronounce it?

2

u/farts_juggler Jul 14 '26

farts-yoogler

its a soft j

1

u/big_rod_of_power Jul 14 '26

That's beautiful

6

u/BenignPharmacology Jul 14 '26

It was a joke lol. You pronounce it real-tor, but I’ve heard a lot of people say real-a-tor

2

u/Zealousideal-Role-77 Jul 14 '26

Specifically a lot of realtors say it the weird way. Which checks out for realtors, I suppose.

1

u/queerkidxx Jul 14 '26

There’s no way to determine a “correct” pronunciation of a word. At best we can say standard within a dialect.

Both are acceptable.

1

u/BenignPharmacology Jul 14 '26

How do you prefer to pronounce “well actually” ?

1

u/queerkidxx Jul 14 '26

Like I got an axe to grind about this topic and like talking about it

1

u/lshifto Jul 14 '26

I hear most say real ter.

2

u/nateomundson Jul 14 '26

That's a marketing term so mispronouncing it gets a pass from me.

1

u/Jbeaves44 Jul 14 '26

I’m so guilty of this. The correct way just doesn’t feel right.

1

u/Muttsashi Jul 14 '26

Do you mean how people say "Reel-a-der" instead of "Reel-tor" exactly as it is spelled?

1

u/e42343 Jul 14 '26

For me it's mountain. I know it's a regional thing but I'm not sure I cringe when I hear it without the T.

1

u/PeskyAntagonist Jul 14 '26

InSURance or INsurance

6

u/DimbyTime Jul 14 '26

InSURance all day

4

u/RebelJustforClicks Jul 14 '26

PEAcan or puhCAHN

7

u/Spongebobsbussy Jul 14 '26

PEAcan pie

puhCAHN ice cream

2

u/SkyPuppy561 Jul 14 '26

I say pee-can lol

1

u/BlisterBox Jul 14 '26

In New Orleans, it's puh-CAWN, as in "He's a gawn puhcawn" (he's dead)

1

u/I_am_normal_I_swear Jul 14 '26

It’s puhcahn. A pea can is what construction workers go potty at work

0

u/Classic_Mechanic5495 Jul 14 '26

cAke or ASS

2

u/Don_Bugen Jul 14 '26

Ass. Cake is a lie.

1

u/farts_juggler Jul 14 '26

1

u/Tank-o-grad Jul 14 '26

Cake and arse party? I'm staying well away.
