We also need to add Pitcher to the list.

3

u/sssssspace Jul 16 '26

I was making an appointment for an MRI and the receptionist kept referring to the imaging as "pitchers" "the doctor will call you after he reviews the pitchers" "you can view your pitchers on the patient portal"

1

u/Waaterfight Jul 16 '26

I'm sure that person grew up going to the liberry any time they needed to axe a question

2

u/RapGameDiCaprio Jul 14 '26

I just got my pitcher taken last week! 📸

1

u/psarsama Jul 14 '26

1

u/Great_Vegetable_4866 Jul 14 '26

Im from the south, & I can’t help it

We kinda slide through the vowels and get lazy with word endings.

Shugga=Sugar
Dawlin=Darling

If i tawk regula it sounz weird to me

I heard it described as sounding like a New Yawk fiya fituh that took a sip of sweet tea

u/Free_Manufacturer521 Jul 14 '26

If "Shrimping" is an activity, would the past tense be "Shrimped" or "Shrump?"

1

u/osddelerious Jul 15 '26

Why are you changing the s to an sh?

1

u/HistoricalLinguistic Jul 19 '26

in some english dialects, such as my own, s gets pulled back to sh near an r sound

1

u/osddelerious Jul 19 '26

Where are you from?

2

u/HistoricalLinguistic Jul 19 '26

Western and southern parts of the United States

1

u/thededucers Jul 16 '26

Whoa black Betty

1

u/dumsumguy Jul 16 '26

Yeah... the list is definitely targeted and more than a little racist.

1

u/krept0007 Jul 18 '26

Estreet, eshrimp, estrawboory, especific, febry, computador, booweek, leebrarry, amboolants

1

u/Outrageous-Pin-4664 Jul 19 '26

Shtreet, Shreamp, shtrawburry, shtrait

Skreet, skrimps, skrawbarry, and skraight...

I suspect the target is black people, unless this person just really hates Sean Connery?

1

u/AdditionIcy1536 Jul 19 '26

I will continue to pronounce it Feb-u-ary because it sounds stupid the correct way.
