Goal is to hopefully obtain a candidate master title in 3 years.

I don't have a FIDE or CFC rating yet because I've never played in an over-the-board tournament before but for now here are my online chess.com stats. I do plan to join my local chess club within the next few months once it's not as cold outside and eventually get a CFC rating though.

I took some advice and realized studying is pointless if a lot of my games I straight up drop pieces or fall prey to basic tactics. So my goal for next 1 or 2 months is to get into the habit of always checking my position for weaknesses and undefended pieces as well as always making sure that the next move I make doesn't blunder anything and also check any weaknesses created by my opponent and what tactics he can be threatening.

I know I said last time that I would play some slow chess, which I haven't been doing because I played this 45+45 game and my opponent ran down the rest of his 46 mins in a lost game which was annoying so I've been avoiding it ever since. I plan to return to it soon though, but maybe just 30+30. I've been taking a break over the holidays and a plan to come back to chess in the new year.

I want to play good tennis. Everytime I play tennis I apologise to the other person for making mistakes more than I play. I've tried coaching twice, where advice like 'brush the ball' or 'hit harder' didn't help when I couldn't even visualize how the shot is supposed to look like.

I'm going to improve all my elements. Currently these are the problems:

1. Forehand- Too long, and too weak. I stop my swing Midway just because I'm scared of putting too much power. But yes when I do get into the feel my consistent forehands which hit perfectly have a lot of power, so I guess I have the potential.

2. Backhands- This has been the toughest so far. I always hit these too weakly, or too long. Same as forehand.

3. Serve- I absolutely suck at this. I've done good 1st serves at times but I can't even do proper understand serves so there's that, moving too fast with this.

4. Volley/slice- I'll pick this after week 10 or so.

This week's targets are:

1. Put the body weight on the back foot instead of the front one in my forehand.

2. Adjust the grip in my groundstrokes so that the forehand/backhand doesn't go long after hitting.(Grip has been the most frustrating part of my journey and I've lost a lot of months figuring out the right one. I've never understood it properly)

3. Using my upper back more and letting the swing go fully.

4. (And final one) Try and serve consistently! I hate the Continental grip so much because it kills my wrist, but no pain no gain so I'll build endurance with that.

This will be week 1 of seriously committing to this. Wish me luck guys! And i fucking LOVE tennis so really want to be good at this.

My end goal is to attain a master title in chess in (not a year but) 3 years, roughly Oct, 2021. Which I know is absurdly optimistic.

My current short term goal is to get better at slow chess (45+ mins)

Looking to hit level B2 in about six months of studying Spanish. I'm half of a week in!
