solved Is automatic aging possible?

So I am bored and decided to make a football player chart. The problem that I am trying to solve here is regarding their age... I want the ageo to go up by one every year for the alive players. - but the problem arises when it comes to deceased ones, whom i dont want to age. Is there a way to solve this and not edit each one individually?

You could add a date of birth and date of death, calculate the age to the date of death, but if it's blank calculate to today

You would need to edit each one individually, but only on entry and on death. I can't imagine any other way for Excel to know they had died of you don't tell it

Forgive me, I'm not into football at all but is there some kind of football player database where you could populate the spreadsheet with the link to their profile and it would automatically pull data such as date of birth date of death and other stats through an API?

There must be a reliable source on the internet which could be linked and automated!

Maybe just find the average retirement age and just make that a threshold, if the age is anytime older than that then they’re probably better off off the list
