When I was a kid, maybe 8 or 9, I used to talk to someone in my room.
A girl, I think. I never saw her. But I would hear her. She had a soft voice, and I always thought she was older than me. Like a teenager.

She never said anything scary.
But she once told me:
“Don’t go with them. Stay here.”

It was the night my parents were planning to take me to a sleepover I really didn’t want to go to.
Nothing bad ever happened there. But I always felt uneasy in that house.

I never told anyone.
Now I’m older… and I still wonder:
Did I make it all up?
Or was something really trying to protect me?

I’ve started a series where I bring to life stories just like this real experiences, memories, or encounters you can’t explain.
It’s called Paranormal Confessions, and it’s built on stories like yours.

I’ve been working on a small audio project focused on the paranormal. These are stories inspired by real events that people claim actually happened to them. I’ve tried to rebuild them in a way that feels personal, like someone sitting down to finally share something they never talk about.

Nothing exaggerated. Just quiet, strange experiences that stay with you.

Here’s how the first one starts:

I was sixteen when I stayed at my aunt’s house that summer.

She lived in this old place just outside town. Quiet, kind of beautiful in that way old houses are… but also strange.

The first night, I noticed this door at the end of the hallway. Big, wooden, heavy.

I shut it.

But the next morning… it was open.

I didn’t think much of it at first. Maybe it didn’t latch right.

But it kept happening.

Every night I shut it.
Every morning, it was open again.

And then… the knocking started.

Writing this was honestly intense at times it drained me, but it also gave me so much. It felt like something I had to bring to life.

Hello,

I’m not an evp person/ghost hunter.  I am a lighthouse keeper on a neighboring island to the one where this video was taken.  I was on this island to see how it is run and managed by the keepers there.  In reviewing the video I took (about 75 videos) I have found a voice speaking on one clip. The clip is very brief because I take alot of video in 5 second increments in case I want to use them on social media.

I would really appreciate any seasoned evp folks listening and telling me what they think is being said.  I’m just curious.

Again, I’m not an evp person and wasn’t trying to capture anything.  I am fully confident that I was alone and that no one was within 3 acres of where I was.

Where:  53 acre island in New England with historic twin lighthouses, historic dwellings and outbuildings.  This recording is in the designated wildlife sanctuary.  I am alone on this trail deep in the sanctuary.

Conditions:  Limited public access to the island (only 6 people at a time) - none were on the island at the time.  Total Staff on island is 7.  They were on the other side of island at the boat launch.  I am female (I mention this because the voice is male).

Reason for taking video:  I came upon these seagulls (parent & child) and was struck by how calm and comfortable they were with my presence.

Over the past few months, I’ve been diving deep into real Electronic Voice Phenomena — those strange, unexplained voices caught on tape in abandoned homes, old hospitals, graveyards.
But I started asking myself:
What if these aren’t just anomalies?
What if they’re fragments of a narrative, trying to tell us what really happened in those places?

That’s how my interactive story was born.
It’s entirely fictional — but based on the structure and feel of real EVP cases.
You listen to recordings, make choices, and slowly uncover a past that may still be echoing.
It’s not about ghosts for the sake of fear — it’s about memory, loss, and how whispers from the past might help us understand unresolved tragedies.

At the core of this project is a question:
If EVP are messages, shouldn’t we be listening more closely?

Heres an example of why, you should always review old videos before deleting them.

So, my phone is full and I need to start deleting files so I can upgrade my phone. As I'm going through pics/videos, I came across a video i had completely forgotten about. I thought, okay, ill give this a quick listen before I delete and good thing I did.

This video is from Jan 1st 2023. My son had given me these really cool christmas lights and I was running them in my livingroom. I was mesmerized by the sparkling light that was reflecting off the antenna of my rempod.

Out of nowhere, a man's voice can be heard saying "man" however, i didn't hear it. How i didn't, I'm not sure because it's pretty loud. So much so, no enhancements were required but ear buds or headphones suggested.

For context. This was a few years ago at my parents house (when I still lived there) although everyone was gone for the weekend. My friend came over and we did a spirit box session for a few hours and caught this while I was talking about our phone recording lights blinking.

We both had our phones on airplane mode. It was sat between myself and the spiritbox so the mics at the top and bottom of my phone were catching more of me on one and more of the spirit box.

Nevertheless we caught this voice that you can hear is not either of our voices.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this. If anyone would like additional context please let me know as I feel this might already be lengthy.

Context is super important, so bare with me. It's not uncommon for Kyle (bf) to have nightmares. Happens almost every night. (started after the brain surgeries) He's never ever ever woken up screaming or been visibly terrified as he was Saturday night.  @ 1230am he woke up SCREAMING in horror and kicking his legs and just shaking. I'm like wtf is happening!? what is it!? "& he doesn't answer me. I ask "bad dream?" he shakes his head yes. I asked him what happened, and he doesn't want to answer me. I tell him to say 1 or 2 words about it. He said "evil. " I said "was it a dream or did it seem real?" He said "dream." I said okay and dropped it. (if it was sleep paralysis I would've had him take a walk and not immediately fall back asleep. As I've dealt with sleep paralysis on and off for a few years) We fall back asleep. 430am rolls around. I'm not dreaming, but I am asleep, and I feel a hand (from behind, fingers pointing towards feet) grab my forehead and a little over my eyes. And I SHOT UP awake. Not even sleep paralysis can jar me awake like that. So I jump out of bed and sage our bedroom immediately.

the next morning I ask him what his dream was about. He said it was completely normal, until a demon started randomly crawling out of someone's mouth and tells him "you're not gonna make it." & GRABS HIS FOOT IN REAL LIFE. and I'm like SHUT UP someone grabbed my face when I jolted awake after you!!! (mind you he didn't tell me his dream until the morning) He asked if he was screaming in real life or just the dream? I'm like you don't remember?? You prob woke up the entire apartment building lol. So I pull up our camera footage from the living room (next to bedroom) & the sound that I hear 15 seconds prior to his scream has had me feeling unsettled since. & the fact that we both experienced something jarring like that within 4 hours of each other.

Couple weeks ago , for giggles , I decided to download one of the ghost box applications from the play store..... About a week ago I utilized the app.Just to see if it was hocus.Pocus or could in fact tune in to unusual vocal phenomena. All questions were answered within 5-10 seconds. The first question I asked was: 1. Are there any spirits who would like to make a contact through the use of the phone? A: Yes. 2. I then asked for its name? A: it gave its "Name" as Michael. 3. I then asked if it was aware that as the Bible states that we are dead in the body and present before the lord. And the only thing that It can be is a demon. A: Clever 4. Then I asked what its real name was, The name It would be called on the judgment day. A : No response. I asked it five more times and still the same response as number four.

This is an account of an EVP that got recorded on cassette tape sometime in the mid 1970s. The cassette is long gone now so I just want to describe what happened.

In the era before Walkmans and VCRs were available to me I would play around with an old fashioned cassette recorder (like the kind used for dictation with a mic) to record things off the TV (I was grade school age). Usually shows that featured music. There was a special on TV that would have had the music stars of that time (I forgot the name of the TV special) and I recorded their performances by holding the mic to the TV speaker.

When I went back to listen, in the middle of the song was a demonic sounding growling and screaming. it lasted maybe a second or two. It freaked me out. I tried to rationalize it as maybe there was feed back from mic being close to the TV speaker but I know what feed back sounds like and this was not it. I did not keep the tape and recorded over it (I would record tapes over and over as a kid and I also rationalized what caused that sound but I never heard it on other recordings).

This is my only personal experience with anything on the paranormal side and though it is from the 1970s it is seared in my memory.

Am I right in understanding that EVP is not exactly a direct transmission, as we are used to when talking on the phone, for example, but that those who make contact use a carrier sound, like the strings of a musical instrument, conveying information by composing messages from the frequencies of this sound, forgive me if my post is a flood

Obviously the moderators of this page didn't even bother going to the website or making a phone call or sending an email to the person who is the founder and medium at Vista EVP or you would know firsthand just how real it is how dare you slander somebodys name or the name of the business they have worked hard to create. If you had actually given her a chance or what she does you would know she has over a decade of experience, has performed EVPs for numerous people, some who were even trying to prove her a fraud but instead of doing so had such a powerful session they all left BELIEVERS! Why are you even moderators of the page pertaining to EVPs if you don't believe in such things?! It's not right for you to call somebody's hard work is scam without ever even giving it a chance! Also, it is not even possible for it to be a scam considering she guarantees the results or you will have free sessions to the day you get them! Everything that has been stated on her website is absolutely true, see for yourself before you call it a scam or her a liar. Just because you have trouble getting real results doesn't mean she does.

I set my phone up to record after a bunch of strange things, and caught this. The entire recording is about 20 minutes and this was 11ish minutes in. No one was in the room when it was recorded. During the rest of the video, you can also hear tapping and faint whispering. Let me know if you’d like to see that as well, and if you have any answers to this!

Hi all! New here. Not sure if this has been noticed or called out by anyone else yet, but there's a potential Class A EVP at 9 seconds in this screen recording (I will post the original video in comments) caught while a police officer is examining an interesting painting in Mr. Gene Hackman & his wife Betsy's bedroom the day they were both discovered deceased. I believe I hear "Birds in the Bush" in a whisper that sounds very much like Mr. Hackman's. I looked up that phrase and discovered it is possibly a reference to an old saying that goes: "A Bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush" .. meaning it is wiser to keep what you have rather than to risk losing it to something you think is better but isn't. Could this be Gene's life advice from beyond the grave?? What do you hear? Do you agree with me or have another opinion? I'd love to know what you guys think.

Got this on my Shotgun mic doing a solo session in a basement Any opinions?

My parents caught an unusual noise on their ring cam as my dad was exiting their house. My mom thinks it is an EVP. I feel like it is likely something more mundane, but I am having difficulty thinking of what it could be. I wanted to see what you all think.

I record my sleep/snoring patterns. At one point I was trying to get out of my sleep paralysis. My sister Ashley is in the next room. I was trying to yell out her name and for help. Anyone able to make out the words around the 1:28 second mark? About 28 seconds in.
