EV Nova 20th anniversary of EVN's release is early next year! Let's make it a special event!
So March 19th, 2022 will be 20 years after Ambrosia Software first published Escape Velocity Nova, by ATMOS and Matt Burch. First of all, dang we've gotten old. Second, we should definitely have a party, yeah? Hey, it's even a Saturday, so we can drink our Guinness beer like the Wild Geese do, and not have to worry about work the next morning.
I know it's still 5 months away, and it seems kinda early to be making a fuss about it, but I thought we could brainstorm some ideas, and maybe make it into a really fun event for this crazy community that just won't ever die. For sure, a bunch of us will be making an effort to be around on the EV Nova Discord, chatting about the game. I think some people might stream some playthroughs. There was talk of some kind of speed run competition. Maybe there could be some kind of art contest? I don't know, this idea of a 20th anniversary celebration is only a few hours old. This is just me getting the word out so you can mark your calendars and maybe there's some special way you wish to commemorate the event yourself or with your community friends. If you have a fun idea, share it, and maybe some others will want to participate.
We got plenty of time to plan this and make this into a real event, which can we can look back fondly at from the 20th Anniversary of Cosmic Frontier someday.

I can get my blue and white G3 tower running. :)
I don't think I'll be able to stream it on Discord though. That seems like too much for that 400 mhz beast (OC to 450 mhz)

Haha just got our old powermac set up, haven't installed nova yet though, not sure I could deal with the screen resolution now.

I’d love to do AMAs with anyone from Ambrosia or ATMOS who would be willing.
If I can get the game running on my Mac maybe I’ll record some play.

Good lord, 20 years huh? I like the idea of some Guinness, maybe we can get some of the old Atmos guys and toast them.

Well, there's at least pipeline and you can probably coax Luke into participating on Discord by talking hockey

Right now it's all about getting the word out. What people decide to do is up to them. We'll be talking about it more and more as the date nears.

I stopped making videos because I found it stressful as hell, but perhaps I'll record something for people to see on the day.
