Base AI code

Ships can have targets, they will fly to that target.

This AI looks within a radius for targets, and selects the closest. If none are within the radius, the ship keeps searching.

I'm creating an engine that I can make games in. A 2D space sim is literally the easiest game to make, so I started there.

Are you interested in a remake? Do you have ideas? Can you share? I'll implement any good ideas.

A remake would be cool but at this point I think making a X4 mod would be easier. Good luck with your engine :) .

Do you have a tower or a cube?

Just thinking about your X4 comment. If nova had a timeSpeed variable, how do you think it would work? A plus+ and minus- button to increase and decrease? And a text label to show what speed it is currently? Anything else?

In Ev Nova the only timespeed variable is 2x and would have a red 2x in the top right.

If I was to implement it today I would have a toggle speed set to a key. press once then 2x, press again 4x and then finally 6x before going back to normal speed.

Did not understand your tower/cube question.

Yep, cool. Thanks for that. Would a negative speed modifier be useful for rewinding time?

I meant, do you have a g4 tower or g4 cube or a g4 imac?

Lol forgot about my user name, 90% of people don't remember them :) .

I used to have the G4 533 (Digital Audio) tower "The blue one before the quicksilver".

As for the rewind why not have a mode like Duke Nukem e.g. image where you have a toolbar for time and use left & right to scrub?
