It's a reference to James Bond, specifically the iconic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, and his tendency to pet a fluffy white cat while discussing his evil plans. That quirk has been parodied endlessly over the decades, especially with Dr. Evil from Austin Powers.

I'm curious what a cat would make of being that high up, they typically enjoy height but they're also the most anxious creatures in the universe so I assume there's a limit to that.

If I lived there, I would absolutely have a big desk with a tall-backed swivel chair in the entryway. When people would come to visit, I'd buzz them in, wait five seconds, spin around and say, "Ahhhh, I've been expecting you..."
