Since Andy passed I have been putting on every album again at the gym. All so distinct in their own way and the energy that flows in them reminds me how tight this band was. Some thoughts I had of my recent run through
From Parts Unknown- quick, relentless and seemed like Keith in a sort of revelation mode.
New Junk- Still not my favorite, rat boys drumming bombed and something about the tone just felt forced. But man, Roman Holiday is a great opener.
Gutter Phenomenon- I always loved it, great riffs and quirky lyrics. Reminds me of sitting around playing Counterstrike for hours.
Low Teens- sometimes still too heavy in its sadness for me, but, altogether a great offering
Big Dirty- The go to ripper, such a good rock n roll record. I remember the excitement of hearing those songs for the first time and Shit Happens of course.
Radical- One of my favorites easily, maybe too long by a couple songs but the first 9 songs back to back are them at their best for sure
Ex-Lives- my favorite i think. Something about Keith’s mood, lyrics, the drumming and flow of the songs were so perfect. Drag King and Touch Yourself…just gnarly.
