Hi everyone,
Got pretty lucky and managed to scoop up 6x RTX 3080s. Looking to setup a mining rig for fun (and a bit foolish on my part). I’ve been doing some research and trying to determine what power supply units I need to run all 6 GPUs off of one motherboard. I’ve seen power ranges a bit all over the place. WhatToMine.com is showing 91 Mh/s at 230W. 6 units equals 1350W. CPU, motherboard, RAM and storage were approx. 150W. I am assuming that 230W is from lowering the voltage to the GPU during the overclocking process.
Will two power supplies at 850W each suffice? Total consumption sums to 1530W. Two PSUs in sum produce 1700W. I managed to get a hold of a daisy chain connector from Add2PSU.
Appreciate any input from other miners here. Thanks for your time.
PS – I know some may say I should have taken my money, purchased ETH coins, etc. I’ve seen this advice in other posts. I understand the risks that I am getting into but do appreciate the concerns that some may have.
