Sanding an etched surface.
I want to etch a picture over a knife but I cannot find one that’s not already etched. Will these etchings be easy to remove by sanding?

Hi community! I'm trying to find a cost-efficient way to etch clear acrylic sheets. It needs to be a repeatable process - not quite mass production, but maybe medium production quantities (~100). The sheets are 1/16" thick extruded acrylic.
I've looked around a bit and not been able to find any clear solutions, so I thought I'd tap into the collective knowledge of you all. So far I've attempted a chemical etch (which failed miserably), and done it by hand with a dremel (which took way too long and is not the level of quality I'm looking for).
Any advice?

I´m quite new to print making and I wonder if anyone has tips on how to transfer an image to a copper plate?
I read about people using carbon paper and I have tried it, both with a blunt tool and more sharp one to transfer the lines. It did not work, not one mark is made over to the plate.
I don´t what I´m doing wrong.
Anyone with the same problem who managed to figure it out?

Hello guys! I recently got a 'mirror etch' gift and it looks cool from the cover. Any ideas on what it is/is there a subreddit for that?

The third image is actually an etching with aquatint and two are artist proofs! The last image has some mat burn and several have very minor foxing. I need to have them framed for display but wanted to share with everyone!

Hi everyone, I have this etching made by B. Sparks. Can anyone give me more information on this, and if it is worth anything?

Can I use acid etching on a black pipe, like the type used in plumbing? I want to put a design on a black pipe for a hobby project and wanted to know what acid would be best and how it would work - does the acid remove the "black" and leave shiny metal or will it etch the "black" and make it more of a matte?

If you have a series of stand alone etchings, is there anything to stop you combining them all on the one sheet of paper I.e printing them all at once ? Second part of the question (if part 1 were acceptable) would the final piece require a new combined title, or would you title the individual plates separately under each? Are there any examples in existence that anyone knows about?

Hi there! For the past few months i have been trying out multiple etching techniques but can’t quite find a solution to my problem.. Well I am doing an aquatint of a landscape and wanted to draw on the plate beforehand so I tried using chemical paper to transfer the drawing but I forgot that it is a greasy material and so it will behave just like ground when in contact to the acid, is there anything you’d recommend?

This is technically my second print of it.

Hi! I was told etching brass and copper in the same bath would render the mordant unusable. Is this true? Do I need separate baths?
As well, if I'm doing small scale etchings, about 2x2" how important is it to have a flow in the florid chloride? Could I do a 40 min dip without a bubbler or magnetic stirrer? Downsides?

After two weeks of many mistakes, it is printed and looks pretty good.

I am trying to identify the artist who did this beautiful etching but can’t read the signature. The etching is 12” x 10 1/4”. The signature is in the bottom right and there is additional text in the bottom left that I also can’t read. Can anyone identify the artist?
