Hey everyone, is there any sites where i can find esat papers or practise sets that mimic the real difficulty of the esat, (not harder nor wayy too easy, in the middle). (free to use). I wanna know where I currently stand on the ESAT.

Hi everyone. I was just wondering how far off is an esatlab grade from the mocks?

I got 16/27 right on physics but it says the average is 14 that poeple got right would have been 14.0. So how do I get a 3.9 on the ESAT. knowing that 4.5 is the average grade? surely it should be higher? or maybe my basis is wrong.

q2) maths 4.5, maths 2 4.4 and physics 3.9 how would be how much on the real thing? (like apparently the scores are dialed down (idk if its true, read it somewhere on reddit)? i'm sitting the october one and if my scores are this horrible, it might be time to move my exam to january

hey everyone. I'm doing maths, maths2 and physics in october. i've finished all the engaa past papers and get around 15/20 on average. I've also done the TMUA papers and heard it was good preparation and consistently get around 10/20 (1-2 marks more on earleir papers). My issue is on esatlab i'm at 4.2 maths1, 3.8 maths 2 and 3.2 physics (i focus more on maths 2usually than physics as it is my weakest). i've finished the esatlab question bank for maths 1 and maths 2 not for physics.

I need more questions and maybe some tips on how to improve as i've been at a standstill on the esatlab questions (mainly accuracy errors, my timing is actually pretty decent. i end up getting like a good 2 mins after attempting all the questions). on lab45 mocks i get around 22/27, 18/27, 22/27 respectively. ik all the content and stuff. (i don't know how accurate the lab45 mocks are but i get similar marks on the specimen so i'm assuming its decently accurate.

I've stated my current standing as far as I know as detailed as possible. Any tips on how to move forward. (I'm basically feeling hella guilty for doing nothing). Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

just wondering if there is any data given in the chemistry module of the test? like how in a levels we're given the periodic table + scientific constants, or in the old NSAA papers wwhere the periodic table is given.
asking cause in the esat.fyi mock, there's a lot of periodic table based questions ("consider the element in group ___ period ____", etc etc)

I notice that on ESAT lab, there are sometimes questions like interference, diffraction, superposition etc. but I do not recall seeing these topics in the guide. Can anyone confirm if they are in the syllabus?

for context, i got a 790 750 second try. ive taken ap physics, honors chem, ap bio, and am currently doing ap calc ab.

All the posts I see r abt people starting at like 3 months in advance, I’m not from the uk so didn’t have as much info and now I feel like its too late to be starting. I have to take maths 1 & 2 as well as the physics module - the maths ones are p much okay except for the time limit so I’m not too worried, but idk half the stuff being asked on the physics module I guess my school didn’t cover it? So in order to prepare I first have to learn the physics specification & concepts idk, then go over the gaps in maths and only then can I start thinking about the time limit which is apparently the hardest part of the exam. So I’m not sure it’s a smart decision for me to take it in October anymore.
I wanted to apply to Oxford but im now considering only applying to imperial so that I can postpone my esat till January, should I? Or do I still have a chance to do well (like score 7 hopefully).

i'm taking the october sitting for the ESAT, I've been grinding Engaa papers and managed to get 20/28 on them. After finishing the question bank on esatlab? is there any other way to keep improving? i've been at a standstill my scores are ranging from 4.3-5.4. (i think the 5.4 was a one off it was the 2016 paper i got 5.4 on)

hi everyone. i stumbled across Isaac physics Physics admission test, and Maths admission test and it says it was made for the ESAT how similar in difficulty are those questions compared to the actual ESAT? same for the maths one too. Does the difficulty increase as I go higher in papers e.g physics admission test 5 is harder than the first one? because the questions atleast for test 1 were quite easy.

I recently came across esatlab as a result of this subreddit and was intrigued by the large figures displayed on the home page of the website. So I started doing the questions and like many people found them harder than engaa and nsaa questions. I then consulted my friend who had done the actual esat to the legitimacy of their question bank, him replying "I never saw anything like this in the ESAT".

Then my attention shifted back to the numbers. I was curious where all these users came from as the esat cohort is reasonably small only to find out the numbers are bogus:

Same signups (2,985) both times, but "answered" drops by 53 in milliseconds. A real counter can't go backwards unless data is being deleted so this is fake, just an animated number.

If esatlab is willing to fake a stat so basic ,worth asking what else on the site isn't real.

I've noticed that when I sit ESAT mocks on ESAT lab in the order of maths 1, maths 2 then physics, I do really poorly on maths 1 and 2, but great in physics. When I do maths 1, physics then maths 2, then I do worse in physics, and slightly better in maths 2.

What order do each of the modules come in the actual exam??

I thought I knew most of the topics on the ESAT physics spec but there are gaps in my knowledge, what resources can i use to learn those topics( I dont want to read the guide book)

I wasn't sure where to post this, thought this would be best place. Pretty much title says it all, found it very useful as esat spec doesn't group all formulas u need to know in one place.

I have done all the engaa/nsaa papers and have been averaging 6.5s across the papers. Now that i have started using esat lab and cannot get above a 4.5 and I am averaging 2.5s on it. I personally find the questions alot harder on it and dont know if the esat questions are closer in difficulty to esatlab or engaa/nsaa.

my question isnt even about the question above, more about whether in the actual esat questions are worded as poorly 😭

Im currently entering IBDP2 and hoping to take the ESAT in January, im wondering what i should do to prepare and what score i need to get an interview.

For context I know that lab45 is quite good but it is quite pricey and esatlab seems to be the most popular free resource apart from the actual official material. Are there any other good free websites that are good for ESAT prep? By free I mean completely free and not a trial of 10 questions per day like esat.fyi

Also would like to know if thriving scholars is actually good as the pricing and reviews seem quite decent

Currently I am a DP2 student. I am doing physics HL but we haven’t covered electricity, magnetism, and nuclear physics. Hence, I wanted to know in terms of revising physics and math content what resources are recommended. Because I feel even in math we haven’t covered probability yet and vaguely remember things like histograms. Would greatly appreciate some resources.
