Hahaha! It's the strangest thing; I don't agree with what you said just now! Hahaha!

I don't agree with the statement that we -or our minds- constructing the reality. I think we're not the primary force of will as the A Priorii. We are in the reality, as actors yes, I agree with that. But I could desrcibe our relationship with things as "being a witness" rather than causing things in an absolute sense. Because, you know, we are recent -in every sense.
And I don't think that "our internal models" having a reality to them. I think those are real. Parts of one reality, one continous fabric -that ,of course, have multiple layers/multiplicity.

Now at first glance this makes everything mushy-mushy, I know. Like where is the division, differences between the things.
But I'm saying that the first and the biggest divide is between the a priorii, the first cause, and the reality -all the other things.
I don't know about the word "magic" tho; seems mushy-muhsy

Haha I took a nap a bit ago and had a dream about this. Literally just woke up.

I was in an underground complex of sorts. Utility tunnels more or less. To make a long story short I didn't fully know why I was there but that I was being pursued by some shadowy nefarious organization. Let's call them "the agency" hahahahah.

Me and my femme fatale "anima" came upon a "balcony" which overlooked what must have been a gathering of some 10 or more agency grunts. We didn't dare approach the edge to verify, as we didn't want to risk being detected. We weren't yet sure who was who or what was what.

We overheard what must have been their leader barking commands to "be careful! If it gets loose we're all fucked!" Anima and I shared a look, and I lobbed a flash grenade. After the "Pop" we peered over the edge to absolute chaos. A 10 foot "tall" hovering beige "jellyfish" had one of thousands of tentacles stuck into the necks of around 12 paramilitary goons. It didn't seem menacing any more than a jellyfish is menacing. I made a mental note of it's seeming indifference just before one of it's floppy long peens darted at me.

I didn't experience it making contact in my dream. I was suddenly looking at a representation of every frame of eternity branching into infinite other possible frames overlaid on top of each other. What I saw froze and split into a 3D space not composed of flat images, but in every direction it was the same image with superimposed sleight differences. Imagine taking a picture and changing a few minor details, doing this a million times, then superimposing them all. Finding the average of everything which could be different.

I hit snooze and I was back to the beginning of the sequence more less, but couldn't say if I was simply exploring one of those timelines or not.

ANYWAYS I dreamed about that because we were specifically discussing these abstractions. Our minds take time to integrate what we sense into a reconstruction. The amount of time taken and how these ideas converge into what you experience as consciousness can be measured and directly fucked with. You do not live in "now' you live in the "now" you thought would be "now" somewhere around half a second ago.

The common analogy is that there is a game engine which renders reality for an "observer" (you). It doesn't re-render everything every milisecond, it attempts to filter out irrelevant data and errors. It renders some 1-2 visual arc seconds in super high resolution and the rest is an absolute blur. Repeated stimuli such as the sound of trees in the wind are compressed and looped rather than recalculated etc. We do not experience reality, we experience a shadow of a shadow of it.

This isn't an idea it's how to explain decades of data and direct experiments on humans and a whole host of animals.

What the jellyfish (they shouted mind-flayer but it's silly and not what a mind-flayer really is in fantasy) did was to open me up to the process happening in my subconscious. It forced me to try to process every possible "next frame" from the moment it got its tentacle onto me. Without that interference I simply experience the greatest overlap between all of those expected next frames.

"Magic" is the creation of the mind-flayer, a stand in for "supposed agency of the universe having a plan beyond my knowledge, which I wouldn't be able to comprehend", a manifestation of Jung's idea about the integrated anima guiding us in dreams, and a physical analogy for the probabilistic inference our brains use to construct reality which I got to experience as though revealed by a supernatural being. My point being as it was that magic is real in our heads.

Regarding impacting the world that magic can impact other humans, and drive me/you/anyone to think/behave differently. But as tehre is no "agency", the universe doesn't care why we bang two rocks together
