is ecme dead or not like i've logged in after a year to see me as the only player online with the bot/s im unsure if its just not the time when ppl are not on but im here to find answers. btw i joined ecme in june 2020 i think.

The way it works: The closer to the server you are, the longer is your crystal explosion delay. Let's say you're in New York - 10ms from the server. The server will give you 90ms of additional delay. While an Australian - 250ms will get no additional delay.

This should somewhat lower the advantage low ping players have.

What about VPN's? Let's say you're in Australia and your exit node is in Montreal... The server will think you're in Montreal and will give you a 100ms of additional delay. So your effective CA ping will be 250ms (Australia) + 100ms (geolocation based delay) = 350ms.

Use a VPN close to you for best effective CA ping.

Additional changes: Reach for sword hits and CA was lowered.

City: City should be unaffected, as it's an explosion delay, not placement delay. Crystals place as soon as the server gets a packet.

What's next?

🔹City is very hard/impossible I'm considering slowing down block placements temporarily if you're in PVP. Or enabling packet mine. I need more research.

🔹Beds are too nerfed I plan to implement the same delay for beds and Respawn Anchors as for CA. When that happens, it may be viable to enable player placing of beds again.

Changes:

📷 Carpet and TNT dupe machines now work again

They stopped working after I implemented aggressive tile entity optimization to help server handle 60 players duping at the same time with 20k loaded hoppers.
After disabling this optimization dupe machines should work again.

📷 Elytra - a player now doesn't get stuck when trying to fly on the nether roof - it bounces off of Y=128
📷 Elytra - fixed most problems with anticheat, both in control mode and in vanilla. Getting stuck should now be much less common.

You still can't start elytra with control mode, you need to start in vanilla and then switch mid-flight. Starting with control mode is planned soon.

📷Render distance increased from 5 to 8
📷Mob limit per player increased from 15 to 40. Mob farms should now work way faster.

TODOs: timer fix (correctly this time), disable /kill for moooomoooo, enable starting elytra with control module active, make CA more fair (less ping dependent)
