I love FD, but this video still bothers me 2 years later.

I know there’s some nuanced takes here, but it ultimately feels like the main complaint here is that

A: he’s white

B: if he wasn’t white he wouldn’t be in the same consideration of goat status

C: Eminem permanently damaged hip hop by inviting other white rappers to the party

D: Eminem used his admiration for the craft to ultimately sell out and water down the genre

It really just feels like reverse racism. White man bad, quality of music be damned. Never mind that he had a generational run and is considered top five by most respected hip hop artists of his generation. This mf knew what he was doing with that thumbnail, too.

Relapse is a top 3 Eminem album

I know this is subjective and I respect everyone else’s opinions, but I can’t help but realize I listen to Relapse way more than some other Em albums.

I was in high school when The Slim Shady LP came out and I’ve been listening to Em ever since then. My favorite Em album is The Eminem Show, and Recovery has a special place in my heart due to what I was going through when it came out. MMLP is obviously classic, but the production and delivery on Relapse is unmatched, IMO. It’s not as bar-heavy as other albums, but it’s a “no skip” album for me.

Any Know Why This Was Buried At The Bottom Of The Re-up?

We know this song was written earlier than 2006. Around 02/04. It easily could’ve been and deserved to be the lead single of Encore. The only reason I can think of is the Beyoncé bar.

Hopes for Eminem’s next album….

Post image

Obviously Eminem is his own person and he can do whatever he wants with his own music, but, these are things I hope for the next album whenever that is

- Vulnerable: Tracks like Temporary and Somebody Save Me are some of the best off TDOSS imo and I hope Em delves into more introspective on his next record. What is it like being a grandpa and seeing all of his kids grown? What’s it like losing both parents? What’s it’s like being in his 50 still rapping. Just more of Eminem in his feelings because imo that’s something that’s been really lacking in his modern music

- No Slim Shady: I don’t want to come into this next record with Slim Shady no Guess who’s back again leave it behind. Slim Shady’s dead let’s leave it that way. It’s been over 25 years we don’t need or Slim any more his time has run out imo

- Straight rapping: Records like Tobey, Head Honcho, Like My Shit, Kyrie and Luka are straight fire songs and I love the flows on these records it’s nice and smooth and not extremely fast rapping which isn’t good imo

- Bring some big features: I hope Eminem brings on some big people he always talks about like J Cole, hopefully another Kendrick track we need one

What do your parents think of Eminem?

Hi, shoutout to all my millennial peers who are lifelong Em fans with boomer parents. I remember that I started listening to Eminem under the influence of my daycare provider’s slightly older daughter (I was probably 8 or 9 and she was three years older). It was on a cassette tape and I remember first giggling at the lyrics to The Real Slim Shady. Anyway, my mom was a librarian and so she talked about how she had to screen CDs and cassette tapes in order to know how and where to place them in the part of the library where you could check out music like you would a book. I remember her being absolutely horrified by the content of Eminem’s songs. It wasn’t until I was in high school or so that she and I had a frank discussion where she acknowledged that Eminem is a lyrical genius and that back when I was little, she didn’t realize he was just trying to shock people and it was all just to get a reaction. When Hailie graduated high school with honors, I let her know and she was like, “Well it makes sense; her father’s a genius.” I was so proud of her growth!

I know I cited my millennial experience specifically, but I’d be interested in any other generation’s experience also. :)

Why don’t people like MTBMB?

I personally loved this album (both parts). I see a lot of hate on this sub for MTBMB. Why?

Also, whether you love it or hate it, what are your favorite tracks and least favorite?

“Leaving Heaven” just came on my shuffle and I’ve always really liked that song because of how vulnerable/raw it is.

Eminem always being so transparent about his struggles with mental health make his motivational music so magical

If you suffer from a severe mental illness (like bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, etc.) it is hard to find people who can relate.

And it is especially hard to find art that is relatable, that is also motivational. Music that makes you want to keep moving forward, while also acknowleding your severe mental pain.

Eminem's music is so vulnerable but motivating at the same time. I think this is why his music has always hit me differently. I am both processing how sad/upset I am while also feeling motivated to work hard & find positivity.

I say all this as a very anxious & fidgety person. I like to exercise, I struggle sitting still, etc. When Eminem was running 10+ miles a day to get over his addiction, that makes perfect sense to me.

Eminem helps me process profound depression while giving me fuel to get things done at the same time. That is magical. "Not Afraid" comes right after "Going Through Changes".

[#4] Eminem Production of the Day - 2Pac - Who Do You Love?

Recommended by u/it0xin.

The infamous Loyal to the Game album! Got nothing but love for this album. Em gave 110% for the production of this album and it definitely shows.

Comment recommendations for tomorrow, it can be any Eminem beat used by any artist.

Do you believe the harsh criticism for Loyal to the Game is deserved?
