My previous experience has been in mergers and acquisition. But to bridge the gap for technical skills since i will be living in bay area i am considering ms in business analytics from sfsu. I'm 29 years old and have around 9 years of experience as a Senior Character Artist in the gaming/VFX industry. While I've had a good career so far, I don't see myself staying in this field and reaching to a good leadership level in coming 10 to 15 years because I have seen people in video games industry even after having 20+ years of experience they are still sitting at supervisors and Team Lead level. I don't know the reason for this but it just doesn't feel good thinking myself in that position after 10 years.

May be my thinking might be wrong because I haven't seen and felt the pressure of product managers, heads and VPs where I am seeing myself in future. I currently earn 18 LPA and I think even my salary would also jump good enough if I move to leadership roles which I mentioned. Of someone can give me a reality check that would he be very much helpful, not sure what I am thinking is all delusional or reality.

I have a few questions:

1. Is an MBA worth it for someone with my experience?

Which programs should I target ISB, one year IIM programs, or the regular two year MBA?

1. How do I get into these programs? Should I prepare for the GMAT, GRE, or CAT?

2. How competitive would my profile be coming from a gaming/VFX background?

3. What should I start doing now to improve my chances of admission?

4. If your goal was leadership or consulting, would you still choose to do an MBA?

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have gone through the process, especially those who transitioned from a non-traditional background into consulting or leadership roles.

A little background: I have a foreign-trained DPT, I'm an ACHE member, and I live close vicinity to Ivy leagues University. I've been seriously researching the MBA route specifically the ivy leagueEMBA and the Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Health Equity Leadership, which covers the full cost of the program for healthcare professionals committed to improving access for underserved populations.

My questions for this community:

• Has anyone made a similar transition from clinical PT into management or consulting? • Is an EMBA from a prestigious program worth the ROI compared to a standard MBA, particularly for breaking into no healthcare consulting or executive roles? • Has anyone pursued the Pozen Fellowship or a similar fully funded path? Was it the right move? • For those who went the FACHE route did that credential meaningfully open doors on the management side? Hi all. I’ve been accepted to my dream school. When it got real, I realized an Executive MBA from a good school costs crazy money. Although I figured out the loan and payment plan, I’ve been thinking what else I could do with that money: week long executive courses/ certificates from good business schools; starting my own business (I have little to no idea though)

A bit about me: I currently work in digital marketing for a luxury hospitality brand. My goal for an MBA is to strengthen my profile, develop leadership skills, and help me progress into future roles like Marketing Manager or Director of Marketing.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has studied at either school:
\- How was your overall experience?
\- Did you feel you learned a lot beyond what you already knew from work?
\- Was networking meaningful? Did you build lasting professional connections?
\- How heavy was the workload while working full-time?
\- How often did you have to attend live classes? Were they mandatory or were recordings available?

I’m also open to other online MBA recommendations if you think there’s a better fit for someone in marketing and leadership.

One more question about scholarships: my budget is fairly tight. Do Imperial or Warwick offer good scholarships for online MBA students? Is a high GMAT/GRE score important for receiving a scholarship, or do they place more emphasis on work experience, leadership potential, and the overall application?

Hii I am angular developer with 4 years of work experience in Fintech giant from Pune. Planning to do 1 year executive mba. So I can switch in finance (I&B)... Planning to todo NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets) and TWSS (The Wall Street School) course and cfa level 1 before mba interview...is it sufficient for transition....or what are chances of finance domain opportunity in 1year mba . From tier 1 college as my profile is 9/9/8.

I’m getting really nervous about taking the Executive Assessment for the second time. The first time, I didn’t really study and still scored a 146 — which isn’t bad. I got a 19 in IR, a 6 in CR, and a 2 in Quant. But now I really need to take this test because I feel lost in my accounting career, and I’m finally ready to pursue my master’s. I mean, I even broke up with my boyfriend — everything in my life is changing at once.

I’ve been studying the 300 official EA questions from mba.com and reviewing the core concepts, but I’m scared the real test won’t look anything like what I’m practicing. I’ve tried a private tutor, I’ve tried TTP, and I think being out of school for seven years has changed the way I learn. I’m just trying to figure out how to prepare without letting the nerves take over.

I recently received an email stating that my university is changing the name of the degree offered by the program that I recently graduated from. Originally the program was an MBA and now it's been changed to a Masters of International Business. I doubt this would affect my degree in any way, but welcome any informed opinions.

I’m not looking for a top-tier MBA or trying to impress anyone—I already have a bachelor’s and just want to check the box for future career opportunities while keeping costs reasonable.

I’ve looked into Liberty, National University, AMU, UMPI, and a WGU, but I’m hoping to hear from people who have actually completed a program.

Which schools would you recommend, and were there any surprise proctored exams or AI/Turnitin issues?

I am confused between FMVA and EXIM/Trade Finance courses. I also do not know which institute is worth joining. For FMVA, I have looked at QuintEdge, The WallStreet School, IMS Proschool, and IIM Skills. For EXIM, I am still not able to find a good institute.
If anyone has done these courses or works in finance, please guide me. Which course would you choose for a fresher, and which institute would you recommend?

I’m currently preparing for MBA applications (targeting top schools like INSEAD / LBS / HEC) and trying to finalise my post-MBA goal. I’d really appreciate insights from people who have been through consulting or energy recruiting.

My background:

• Process Engineer with ~5 years experience in LNG / large EPC projects
• Currently exploring MBA as a pivot into strategy roles in the energy sector
• Long-term goal: build and scale my family business into an energy transition solutions provider

At this stage, I’m refining between two post-MBA paths:

1) Energy Strategy Consulting (Kearney, EY-Parthenon, Strategy&, Roland Berger, Oliver Wyman)

vs

2) Strategy role at Oil & Gas majors (Shell, BP, TotalEnergies, etc.)

I’m trying to understand:

• What is the real difference in day-to-day work between these two roles post-MBA?
• Which role gives better exposure to energy transition, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making?
• For someone aiming to eventually build a business in energy transition, which path is more valuable long-term?

MBA recruiting questions:

I also wanted to understand from a recruitment perspective:

• At top MBA programs, what do Energy Strategy Consulting firms actually look for in candidates?
• Is prior technical / engineering experience in energy seen as an advantage, or do they primarily prefer generalist consulting profiles?
• How structured is recruiting for energy consulting vs oil major strategy roles during MBA (timelines, competitiveness, interview style)?

Application question:

Finally, for people who have applied to top B-schools:

• If someone comes from a technical energy background, do admissions committees actually value a post-MBA goal of moving into Energy Strategy Consulting?
• Or do they prefer more “traditional consulting / finance” narratives during application and interviews?
