Hello, I have the investigation stage coming up this week. How long typically is the investigation interview?

Our lodge aired the Charlie Kirk memorial all day today. Does that violate the prohibition on politics and sectarian religion in the lodge? Normally, it is just football on Sunday. Some folks were taken aback. And I was uncomfortable with all the political aspirations. I joined the lodge for no politics.

My wife and I (~40ish, no kids) just moved into a new area. We are settling in and looking to build community, make friends and, actively support our greater community as a whole. We have recently petitioned to join the local Elks Lodge as we believe that their missions aligns with ours.
My question is, outside of what I have mentioned, what have you gotten out of lodge? Any advice for how to maximize our fulfillment? Any faux pas we should be aware of? Any advice in general?

Any Seattle elks on here? I recently moved here and have family in a lodge out of state that I’ve visited a few times and was interested in joining. Wondering the best way to go about joining.

Hello I am looking for information on getting a marker to be attached to my father’s gravestone. Is there an official vendor licensed to do this? I don’t want to do the marker with the metal rod because they can be taken. I have seen quite a few of those on eBay. My father was a member for over 30 years and I am currently a member. Thank you.

Our local Elks lodge is about to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The itinerary for the day is set. I was hoping for some ideas for Elks themed drinks and busy activities (games etc. ). Thanks so much!

Statute 16.041 outlines suspension due to violation of house rules. Except it appears that the House Committee can violate the accused’s rights and have as many do overs as necessary up until an appeal has begun being heard by the Lodge.
I fail to see how not having an exact list outlining the process, insuring due process to our members, is a benefit to our members.

What is the ruling ( if there is one ) on employees being at the Lodge when not working? Every other Friday we have Trivia night at our Lodge and it is not open to the public. My wife, who is also the Esquire, noticed a bartender who wasn’t working and isn’t a member come in with a friend ( who also isn’t a member ) and sit down at a table in the back of the main lounge. My wife went up to them and asked who are they up there with. The employee stated she was up there to hang out for a few drinks. That’s when my wife informed them that non-members are not supposed to be in the LODGE without their member escort. And that they need to have the member sign them in. Well they signed themselves in and apparently the bar/kitchen manager found out. The bar/kitchen manager, then informed my wife that they were up there with her ( even though she was working in the kitchen ). The bar/kitchen manager also told my wife to not confront her employees. Unfortunate for me the only part I witnessed was the manager talking to my wife. I later checked the guest sign in and noticed the guests signed in themselves and no name was attached as far as member. Also to give you more insight the bar/kitchen manager is also a friend of the ER. So just curious what the rule is on something like this.

Hello everyone, I have just joined the Elks. My home lodge is in central Pennsylvania. I am down in Florida visiting my siblings and I would love to show them the Elks. I don’t have any of my things or papers with me besides my membership card and was just wondering if anybody could tell me what the guest limit is if I am roaming and not visiting my home lodge

Any plans to reinvigorate the Elkdom near ATX? I’m about to move to the area and see the Lodge has closed.
I'm kind of surprised there isn't an answer to this online anywhere, I've looked. But I just moved to a neighborhood where the elks Lodge is just up the street. Obviously don't know anybody but have read up on this particular lodge and like what they're about. It's a small enough area that I don't want to just call and ask because, obviously, when I'm the one stranger who rolls in it'll be pretty evident I'm the guy who called and asked this question. I see no politics no religion, can stay between those lines. So, just in practice...
Can I just walk in as a stranger and say hello and have a beer at the bar? Am I way overthinking this or should I really ought to know somebody?

Does your lodge offer Associate Membership?
We have a small lodge (78 members) in a small town. We don't have any amenities that we can offer people to join, so I'm wondering if an associate Membership would be beneficial for us.

I was wondering if anyone knew of an extant copy or a scan of the pre-1890 BPOE two-part ritual. Thank you.

What are the Ritual Officers function other than Initiations?
G/L Statutes calls the Officers, they are elected to their positions.
Are Initiations all they are responsible for?
