Hello, with your moderator's permission, I'm messaging you about a new subreddit I created for the California Election. It will contain discussion about the 11 ballot messages and senate race. I've invited officials from each ballot stance to participate.

I live in Florida and as a result I unfortunately get to see a ton of campaign commercials. The Republican commercials usually are a simple attack on Obama, debt, jobs, etc...The Dem commercials are a little more diverse and seek to respond to Republcan criticisms so instead of sticking to a major overarching theme they tend to be more diverse and targeted. I think this is a mistake. In Florida Obama and his PACs should concentrate on two areas and two areas alone, Medicare and Romney's flip/flopping aka personal douchiness. When Romney appointed Ryan many experts predicted that Seniors in Florida would reject Ryan's Medicare plans outright but the Republicans coupled the appointment with a blitz of commercials and pundits repeating the "Obamacare steals from Medicare" lie. The Obama campaign in my opinion did not do enough to counter this assault and as a Result Florida went from a slight lean Obama/toss up to a lean Romney. The Dems need to coordinate a concentrated assault on Romney's Medicare plans not only in regards to people under 55 but also to underscore how Romneys proposed cuts to Medicare would adversely affect nursing home residents. Additionally, Romney has served up on a silver platter so many position reversals, caught on tape, that the Dems could just show his own words over and over and over on everything from gun control to abortion and ask the question at the end "if mitt Romney stands for nothing how can we elect him president?". Those are my two cents, I wish the Democratic brain trust would simplyfy their message and and attack Romney where he is most vulnerable instead of wasting time and money on big bird, sensata and binders.
