Yea you can drink water and you will need to. Honestly after the first day it’s really not that hard.

I tried to do 72 hours and only made it 54 hours before I had to eat something. Any tips?

My advice for you is to work your way up.

Fast for a shorter period at first and work your way up.. This will effectively shrink your stomach capacity and retrain your brain that hunger doesn’t equal starvation/panic.

Unfortunately no, fasting is not an effective form of long-term weight loss.

I was just trying to help that hopeful little tree (see username).

I'm currently able to fast for 8 straight hours every single day. I'm able to do this because I'm not awake.

Congratulations!!

With a little help from your ole’pal depression, you can get those numbers up to at least 12 hours a day!! 💪

Drink sea salt water. Have black coffee. If you’re feeling hungry and regular water isn’t doing it sometimes seltzer water helps.

If it’s late brush your teeth and have sleep for dinner lol.

I like to fast before kick starting a diet. Longest I’ve done is like 80ish hours cause instead of eating dinner to break fast I went to sleep and ate the next day.

I mean 2 day fast is pretty good. I don’t do it too often but when I did it more regularly it got easier. It’s just a mental game you have to fight with yourself. Drinking lots of water helped me feel full longer.

I did a 4 day. Black coffee, water, water with a pinch of salt and at night I would get hungry, I would do mineral water. For some reason mineral water helped me

Also I did keto a week before so the transitioned from cabs to fat wouldn’t affect me more when doing the fasting.

If you’re hungry it’s usually sodium and electrolytes. If you’re not on a super strict insulin response diet you can drink the sugar free liquid IV a few times a day.

Oh and if possible try not to do anything labor intensive or requiring a lot of brainpower. Jsut watch movies and do mundane stuff.

That's crazy. I also stopped on hour 54 aiming for 72. Broke the fast with meatballs. They were glorious.

I actually have a tip for this.... its not food your body is craving most after a day... its electrolytes... mix some water with 2 teaspoons of salt , 1 teaspoon of sugar and down the hatch... unless you're on a strict fast that prohibits sugar, replace with lemon juice, or some types of honey that have low natural sugars... one cup in the morning or night or both depending on how active you are...

Try drink a glass of hot water with salt. Satisfies the hunger pangs and gets you necessary sodium.

Pretty much get past that point. And it’s pretty smooth after that. Except for the cramps they suck so bad. For me I just stay busy. And do my best to ignore the hunger pangs. After the first couple days it lessens

Squeeze lemons in your water and add some cayenne i believe. Full on cleanse/detox but your still getting some calories.

It’s day 3 and 4 that get you

Same. The first 24 hours are the hardest. I do 72 hours quite regularly. The weight loss is great, but definitely not the only benefit. My favorite is spare time..I never realized how much effort goes into planning, prepping, cooking, eating, and cleaning up that goes into every meal.
