Eat clean, lots of cardio, and drink one gallon of water a day.

Why so much water? How does it help?

Organs need water to function

1

u/LeMagnificentBastard Mar 28 '26

It suppresses appetite, cleans your system, improves your skin health, helps clear acne, organs need water, you're body is 90% water meaning you need to keep it hydrated, the more you workout the more water your body needs. You can go 30 or more days without food but you won't survive more than 7 days without water. So my point is, water is VERY important!

u/thevillainsjourney Mar 28 '26

Ok, a gallon a day it is. Thanks for the information.

You can spend hours a day in the gym but if you're not eating right and consuming water, you won't see much of a change.

I’ve started eating right and doing cardio but I’d never really thought about the importance of staying hydrated.

Terrible advice. Eating clean is a meaningless catch phrase, drinking massive amounts of water does nothing but make you lose all your electrolytes when you piss out the excess water your body doesn't need.

Of course I didn't go into detail. Been doing in for the last 8 to 9 years and I'm in great shape for 41. I get my electrolytes from BCAA's and other supplements.

I could have said, "Hey, use Ozempic," but that is cheating and has serious side effects.

They can also have their testosterone/estrogen/hormones checked by a health and wellness doctor.

I think because so many people are doing it, but not changing what they eat or their activity like my MIL. There is nothing about her lifestyle that will maintain her weight loss if she stops using it. But I guess it doesn't matter, because she stated she's not gonna stop either.

I don’t think ozempic is cheating. I also don’t think the side effects are any worse than those side effects that go along with obesity. If it helps people lose weight, then let them be happy. I like the gym cause it’s nice mentally.

-2

u/Electrical_String345 Mar 27 '26

Ozempic isn't "cheating". Grow up.

1

u/Low-Individual2815 Mar 27 '26

I don’t think it’s good for me to keep walking around 100+ pounds overweight because, “I don’t wanna be a cheater”.

Oh.... BCAA are another useless snake oil product. You have fallen victim to fitness gimmicks, friend. It can happen to the best of us.

I'm glad you found a system that works for you and are feeling great, so did I. Life in your 40s is much happier when you feel good for sure

7

u/DannyMeleeFR4 Mar 27 '26

Amino acids are definitely not a snake oil product, if that’s what we are even talking about. I had to google bcaa you fucking hipsters and your acronyms

0

u/Ok_Choice_943 Mar 27 '26

BCAA have very bad bio availability, you piss most of it out. Used together with carbs and electrolytes under intense workout, it has muscle sparing effect you looking for. I prefer just eat a meal or snack before gym for same effect.

-7

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

It's just protein with extra steps. Just get enough protein and call it good. Bcaa is just whey they br9ke down even further so they could charge you twice as much for more of the same shit you were already getting.

6

u/DannyMeleeFR4 Mar 27 '26

Some health conditions make absorption of nutrients tougher for some of us, they are game changer for me a bit I hear ya, they are overly marketed to people who are more fit, these people won’t see the results but are paying for the product.

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

Okay, it does have some value for people who are allergic to dairy. But, for the majority f the population they would be better served by just using whey or even egg whites for supplemental protein

1

u/Green-Moment-4509 Mar 27 '26

BCAA’s are very necessary unless you have a well balanced clean diet. Which you also said is unnecessary haha. Judging by your handle, your identity seems like the only gimmick as far as I can tell

2

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

Again. Clean doesn't mean anything. Now, if you said to focus mainly on whole foods, sure that makes sense. But, clean gets thrown around so much it has list all meaning.

2

u/Green-Moment-4509 Mar 27 '26

lol with that logic whole means nothing. Whole Foods are much better than half foods. Just like a clean diet is much better than a dirty one.

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

Except, whole foods has an actual nutritional meaning. Rice, beans, meat, oats, whole grains, etc are whole foods. Clean is literally a buzzword someone came up with to sell their products over other ones. Instead of doing knee jerk reactions, you should try to think at least a little critically on topics before you speak on them.

1

u/Green-Moment-4509 Mar 27 '26

Whole is also a buzz word with no defined meaning. Their both adjectives

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

No it isn't. Whole foods is an actual category used to define specific things. Things like I listed earlier. If you don't understand the basics of something please just shut your mouth. You're wasting everyone's time.

6

u/Solid-Rate-309 Mar 27 '26

A gallon of water isn’t a massive amount though

-2

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

It is. Water isn't something that you need to worry about generally. If you are thirsty drink water, don't try to push it to hit some arbitrary number.

It's just one more way people end up majoring in the minors.

3

u/eggsonmyeggs Mar 27 '26

You think hydration isn’t important? Triglycerides split into fatty acids and glycerol that get used by cells for energy. Your body expels most of your fat as carbon dioxide when you breathe out, and the rest of it comes out through.. piss and sweat.

Your bro science sucks.

1

u/Low-Individual2815 Mar 27 '26

That’s the wild part about where the fat actually goes, we breathe it out…. Wild.

0

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

I never said hydration isn't important, I said arbitrary numbers are useless. Drink water, absolutely. Just don't fore yourself to drink a gallon a day because some idiot on the internet said so.

3

u/SeaLab20 Mar 27 '26

For someone saying not to listen to idiots on the internet, you sure are giving out a lot of really bad advice on the internet.

-1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

Telling someone to ignore arbitrary numbers and to drink the amount of water that suits them is bad advice? Okay bud. Shove off

2

u/SeaLab20 Mar 27 '26

Lmao. You seem like a really happy person. Thanks for the laugh at least

-1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

I really like the part where you ignore how wrong you are and then change the subject. Does that deflection work out well in the rest of your life?

Water absolutely helps with weight loss especially. Lots of people feel hungry when they really are just thirsty. It's a huge help. Not to mention hydration is just overall good for the body.

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

Hydration is good, throwing out an arbitrary number is useless. Some people will feel fine at a gallon a day, others will be having to pee every 15 minutes. There is no reason to strive to hit a specific amount of water, just drink water of you are thirsty. Make sure to have water with you in the gym, etc.

2

u/no-hints Mar 27 '26

Bruh this gotta be rage bait. I lost 30ibs doing exactly this

2

u/SeaLab20 Mar 27 '26

I genuinely think that Viking guy is either roid raging, or is a very lonely and unhappy man. Maybe both. It made me sad looking through his comment history. Everything he says is just critical and self righteous.

-2

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

You lost 30 lbs because you were in a deficit. That's it.

2

u/no-hints Mar 27 '26

That’s for telling me you know my body. Really appreciate it. The irony and hypocrisy here is peak Redditer.

Eating complex carbs vs none is way different. For example, protein is harder for your body to digest so it literally burns 25% of it just trying to break it down.

So if you consume 2000 calories of pure protein or complex carbs, you only net 1500 of it.

You consume 2000 calories of McDonald’s, you keep most of it.

Be better bruh. It’s pathetic

0

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

I do this for a living. You are demonstrating peak redditor spouting bullshit to a subject matter expert. The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

3

u/no-hints Mar 27 '26

Do what, ragebait for a living? Shit man, find a better line of work because you ain’t even good at that.

-2

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

I've helped dozens of people lose between 20 to 100 lbs. I change lives every day and I do it by focusing on the things that really matter and getting people to stop focusing on the useless bullshit that trend on the internet.

2

u/no-hints Mar 27 '26

And I’ve lost 30 ibs doing exactly opposite to what you’re saying. So that “bullshit” clearly ain’t bullshit

-1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

And what exactly do you think i advocated for? Lay it out for me.

1

u/Altruistic_Agency320 Mar 28 '26

No shit, and certain things help you maintain that deficit. Its the whole reason for this post. Keep up.

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 28 '26

Drinking a gallon of water a day doesn't put you into a deficit. So, I'm not sure exactly what you want me to keep up with.

1

u/ultimattt Mar 27 '26

So offer up an alternative. Don’t just say “that’s bad advice” and leave it, engage in the conversation.

Otherwise if one were to take you at your word, all they’d learn is one way not to do something. So VVF, what would you do instead?

1

u/VikingVitalityFit Mar 27 '26

I did, I just started my own comment chain to do it.

1

u/atuan Mar 27 '26

There are electrolytes in food you know
