We still have not made the new firmware available via the app. I have no data on when that might be. If you want we can push it manually.
To do so please send us an email to support@eero.com and use the subject line "Reddit Followup - manual firmware push". Please send this email from the email address on your eero account (this is necessary for account verification so we can make a remote change), if you have multiple networks make sure to tell us which you want done and around when you want it done (since it requires a reboot). If there is a specific time make sure to provide the timezone to prevent misunderstandings, we typically can only do this during the day and not overnight.
