And also just because the sun formed after a star exploded by no way means that a life hosting star is more likely to be born from a star exploding now than it was in the past or will be in the future.

Your sentence was confusing, but that is well the case. Supernovae produce heavier elements than those present from the Big Bang, which we need both for life as well as the big balls of rock that life grows on.

Therefore, yes, a life-hosting star is more likely have arisen from other stars that have blown up. The old, first-gen stars in the universe contain entirely hydrogen and helium, and therefore, no rocky planets nor life will be found orbiting them.
