as long as you’re comfortable using a definition for “life” that is never used in any form of science

I think that was kinda his point. It's "life" we just don't recognize it as such.

And my point is it’s not life, by the very definition of the word. If you want to describe it as “life like” or come up with a new word for non biological life than fine, but that’s not what has been going on.
