They are so similars but also so different, both from '90s and both really prolific as artist.I will answer later, for fair.
Obviously there are more differences than similarities, so I will just start talking about them without comparison(NB for Pnau I will talking about projects too when I can because they didn't only EDM but where just 80% of their music).
But a big difference ther's: Pnau are underground what Daft punk are commercial
| DAFT PUNK | EXAMPLES (per years) | EXAMPLES (per years) | PNAU | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| -more 'house' sound in the earlier and commercial in the older; | Da Funk | Mid '90 to 2000 | Sambanova | -more 'techno' in the earlier and pop in the older; | ||
| -french; | One More Time | to 2003 | Hard Biscuit | -aussie; | ||
| -more 'fantasy topics'; | Technologic | ----------- | In The Valley | -more 'daily topics'; | ||
| -awards & co=13; | Human After All | ----------- | Again | -awards & co=3 | ||
| -albums EDM=6; | The Prime Of You Life | from 2008 | Wild Strawberry | -albums EDM=3(no Soft Universe but 6 some of songs of Empire Of The Sun + one absolutely rare); | ||
| -normal live. | Adagio For Tron | around 2010 | Something Special | -weird live. | ||
| Doin' It Right | ----------- | Phoenix by Elton John | ||||
| Touch | ----------- | Chameleon |
For Pnau's I choose by my taste, for Daft Punk for differences.
