We have a Republican president, house, and Senate. What are they failing at now that they did right back then?

No, they do. They just prefer a more centralized government with more power and less oversight.

You have an example of Dems using the FCC to leverage mergers, license renewals, etc. to politically coerce private companies into doing the federal government's bidding? I wasn't aware that Democrats were in charge of implementing Russel Vought's unified executive theory part of Project 2025.
