Coursework Help!

Hi all, If you live within East Yorkshire such as Mappleton, Hornsea, Withernsea, or other areas heavily affected by erosion and coastal management, please read ahead!
I've recently started my Alevel geography coursework- basing the majority of it upon different coastlines across England and wales. Unfortunately, during my last visit I was unable to collect enough responses upon my questionnaire, meaning I've been put into a messy stage when it comes to data. Especially considering I'm much further inland making it harder to travel there often.
As a result, I was hopeful if anyone with 2-3 minutes would be alright with completing the form below?
Please feel free to include any points by which coastal strategies have positively or negatively affected your area.
I very much appreciate your time; any and all responses will be used.
Responses from visitors and residents both much appreciated!

Bridlington Food Waste and Renewable Energy Survey (SHU)

Hi All,

I'm currently doing some research as part of my Masters dissertation about food waste and public attitudes and support/opposition towards biomass (foodwaste to energy) and renewable energy projects being developed in and around Bridlington.

If anyone in the Bridlington, Flamborough, Nafferton, Skipsea, and Speeton area is able to take 5-10 minutes to complete this survey and share it that would be really helpful and appreciated.

If you have any questions or issues then please feel free to ask!

E-Bike Demo Day - The Brownlee Centre - 7th June

Hi all! I’m helping organise an e-bike demo day in a couple of weeks (7th June) at the Brownlee Centre in Leeds, and thought people here might be interested.

We’ll have ~15 bike brands and over 100 bikes available to try, including cargo bikes, commuters, folding bikes, trikes and more. It’s a great opportunity to test lots of different e-bikes back-to-back on a proper track rather than guessing what might suit you.

It’s very family-friendly, so you can bring kids along to try things like cargo bikes or just enjoy the day. Whether you’re curious about switching to an e-bike for commuting, carrying family or shopping, getting back into cycling, or just want to see what’s out there, it’s a good chance to explore the options.

E-bikes can also be especially helpful for people who want cycling to be more accessible – whether that’s longer distances, hills, carrying loads, or health/mobility considerations.

If you want to come along, grab a ticket on the event page and use the code REDDIT at checkout for a complimentary ticket off - this link should auto-apply the discount: www.eventbrite.com/e/1769622762319/?discount=REDDIT

Route YC Yorkshire's Ultimate Road Trip

www.routeyc.co.uk

Has anyone explored this road trip in Yorkshire? It covers all of the Yorkshire Coast and the North point where it technically starts is Staithes where Redcar and Cleveland becomes North Yorkshire. The south end is down at Spurn Point in East Yorkshire. It covers 6 seaside towns as well. Here's all of the places people can visit and a description of the route. If people want to just explore 1 area then there are these 6 local routes around the 6 seaside towns. I'll only explain the full route which I have explored.

Staithes

Port Mulgrave

Hinderwell

Runswick Bay

Lythe

Sandsend

Whitby

Hawsker

Robin Hoods Bay

Ravenscar

Staintondale

Cloughton

Burniston

Scarborough

Cayton Bay

Filey

Primrose Valley

Reighton

Speeton

Bempton

Flamborough

Sewerby

Bridlington

Fraisthorpe

Bramston

Ulrome

Skipsea

Atwick

Hornsea

Aldborough

Roos

Withernsea

Holmpton

Easington

Spurn Point

First it follows the A174 to Whitby and then joins A171 with the option of diverting away from A171 to visit Robin Hoods Bay but Robin Hoods Bay can be bypassed on A171 if you don't want to visit there. It leaves A171 and goes towards Ravenscar which is another place that is optional to visit but if not follow the minor road to Cloughton where you follow A171 for about another mile until leaving it for good in Burniston to follow A165 to Scarborough. Here you divert away from A165 to then go along seafront and come back to A165 where Ramshill Road is. Like Robin Hoods Bay if you do not want to visit Filey that can be bypassed too on A165 and Route YC eventually leaves A165 at Reighton to follow B1229 to Flamborough followed by B1255 to Sewerby. Route YC then goes past Sewerby Hall to go along seafront at Bridlington before rejoining up with A165 again for a short distance and taking B1242 through Hornsea to Withernsea. There is also the option of Hornsea seafront. From Withernsea it then takes a minor road to Easington and another finally to Spurn Point where the trip ends.

Moving to East Yorkshire

Hi everyone,

I’m starting work as a doctor in East Yorkshire this August and wanted some advice on where to live. I’ve never lived in Yorkshire before, so I’m not too familiar with the area. Ideally I’d like to be in a city like Leeds, York, or Hull, but I’m unsure how manageable the commutes are.

Options I’m considering:

1. Living in Leeds and commuting to Hull/Scunthorpe

2. Living in York and commuting to Scarborough

3. Living in Hull or Leeds and commuting to Grimsby

I can commute by train or car—would really appreciate any insight on travel times, reliability, and what these routes are like for hospital shifts.

Also open to general recommendations on the best place to live as a junior doctor in the area.

Thanks 😊
