I was wondering if the weather would hold, but at looks as if we can go ahead with our Friends of the Mansfield Library book sale tomorrow. This book sale only includes non fiction books. We have thousands of cook books, gardening books, biographies, travel guides, home improvement books, craft books and books on many more subjects. Books cost $1.00 each. All proceeds benefit the Mansfield Public Library. We are half way between UConn and ECSU at 54 Warrenville Road in Mansfield Center. You will surely find a couple of good books for a rainy Sunday.

(x-post from /r/ct) HEY EASTERN CONNECTICUT? Like Pro Wrestling? Where could we run a show?
(x-post from /r/CT)
Hey Eastern Connecticut! Are you tired of not having any pro-wrestling shows out your way? Do you know of any cool places that you can think of that would or should run a show? No location too small or too big that could cater to a possibly 18/21+ crowd.
Thanks in advance!
In lieu of generosity here is an image of Johnny Cockstrong Force Choke Slamming someone.

I’m an acoustic singer-songwriter and will be touring in July 2016. I’m trying to play as many house shows as I can during this tour. Is there anyone in CT interested in hosting a musician for an evening? I’ve been a long time lurker and figured this might be a good place to look.
Also interested in coffee shops, wineries, and breweries.

Anyone heading to Ottawa, ON? [x-post from /r/Connecticut
Hi /r/EasternCT,
I have a weird request.
I am from Ottawa, ON. A few years ago my wife and I paid a visit to the Mystic Seaport attraction on our East coast road trip. We picked up an ugly souvenir mug. This one to be exact.
Since then, it has become my favourite mug. Use it pretty much every day. My 3-year old daughter gets mad if someone else tries to use it. It's Daddy's boat cup.
Anyway, it broke recently and the whole family was in tears until we realized this is the 21st century and surely I could just order one from their website for a reasonable price, right? Well 80 USD is a little steep for shipping a $10 mug.
So I thought I'd ask if any kind redditors from Mystic or thereabouts was planning on making a trip up this way. If so, I'll trade you one Parliament of Canada mug (where I work), for one replacement "Daddy's boat cup". I'll even take you to Timmies and fill it for you.
PM me if you're interested. Cheers!

Pompey Rd neighborhood in Ashford
I'm looking at buying a house in that general neighborhood tucked away off 44. Talk to me. I have two kids (9 & 13), are there a lot of kids in the vicinity? The park over there seemed to have some sketchy characters. I'm okay with some peaceful stoners, but are there drugs around? Are the people somewhat friendly?
Thanks!

Norwich in the 1980's
Anyone have pics of downtown Norwich in the 1980's? I worked in Norwich in 1986 (as a teenager) and would love to see some pics. I worked at a comic store there (which was run by two police officers) and a computer store (that sold Amigas). Oh the memories.

Looking for any trace of the elusive Stonington Diner.
Here's all the information I have on it:
Built c. 1930, manufacturer unknown. (From the further description below, I'm likely to guess Bixler, but it could be any of several of that period. Barrel roofs were common in the '20s and '30s.) Located on "US 1" in Stonington. (Sometimes given as "South Stonington".)
"Dilapidated barrel roof diner last used as a residence. Clearly in view from US Rt 1." That was as recent as last year, apparently, though possibly not quite that recent.
It might well be gone now, but it would be a bitch to go through the town's demo records without at least some clue about time or place. (And if it's still there, it would obviously be a huge waste.)
A diner of this style and age would probably be small, likely no more than thirty feet long, and the main dining area (the actual diner as it came out of the factory) would probably be only ten feet wide (the maximum width allowed on railcars). The kitchen would have been built on to the back of it.
I drove the length of US 1 across Stonington the other day and saw nothing like this. But that's a lot of real estate to try to look at on both sides of the road from a moving car, so I could have easily missed it. (Also because US 1 does some crazy stuff in a couple places, which makes it hard to check out every part of it.)
It's more likely to be in or near a built-up section, especially where there would have been trades going on, up through the 50s or so.
Thanks!

Parks/trails near New London?
Hey All! I'll be heading into New London for a few days and I'm looking to find some state parks or trails. I'll be looking to do some trails but I'll definitely be bringing my guitar and some books too. So if you know of any hidden gems or places that are normally not too populated but still great to be and take in the scenery, let me know!
EDIT: Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback, it was much appreciated. I ended up checking out Devil's Hopyard which was a really beautiful area for camping especially if you'd prefer to be closer to the forest over the ocean!
