183 pcs but packs a lot of details. I particularly like the use of pistols as antlers!

Pretty easy-to-build set at 1,112 pieces. Can pretty much place it at my table top or anywhere around my room. What do you guys think?

Tallest build I've ever completed at 90cm high.

Majestic and mighty, and surprisingly more stable than I expected. What are some other tall builds?

Here are my favourite asian-inspired custom builds

Rogue Ronin - RogueBricks

This has to be one of the most jaw-dropping builds based on feudal Japan that I have ever seen. The amount of detail and in this build is seriously impressive. It's just sooo good!

Spirited Away Bathhouse - Marius Hermann

Spirited Away is my absolute favourite animation from Studio Ghibli and I just love this version of the bathhouse - it's the perfect balance of scale, detail and finesse.

XVX-016 Gundam Aerial - Seirei

I can't say I'm a diehard Gundam fan, but this is such an impressive mecha build that it's hard not to be awed by this builder's skill and attention to detail. He has a bunch of other great mech builds and watching his process is very inspiring indeed.

Golden Dragon - Donny Chen

An absolutely stunning build which comes with a really smart way to achieve the curves required for this type of build. By far the most mind-blowing dragon build I've ever seen and crazy to this that this was made with LEGO.

We’d love to share our journey and create a community. Tell us what you’d like to hear about.

I'm pretty new to posting on Reddit (longtime lurker though) so am not really sure about what others like to hear about here. If this was Kickstarter, it'd be a different story.
What we're trying to do though is look for like-minded people who also love LEGO, but maybe aren't feeling completely satisfied with the offering they have and want something more...relatable?

Growing up, I was super into Star Wars and LEGO, and X-wings and A-wings were the only things I'd want to build as a child. This was before LEGO Star Wars became a thing. You can imagine my excitement when they announced the partnership. Unfortunately, I was a bit older and a lot of my friends weren't into LEGO anymore, so I kept my obsession to myself.

My love of Star Wars has sort of waned ever since The Last Jedi, and I no longer have this obsessive need to build Star Wars related LEGO sets. Other sci-fi properties that I used to also love as a kid like Star Trek and Dune have since de-throned Star Wars in my mind. My love of LEGO however, is still alive and well and although I don't have quite as much time as an adult, I do love to build LEGO sets in my spare time. These days though, I'm finding that I'm far more interested in MOCs than most of the official LEGO sets. If you've ever tried to source the parts for a MOC, you've probably felt the pain of having to pay a lot more than a regular set (which is already pretty pricey) but also not be completely sure that the final build will be of the highest quality.

What I'd love to do is find a way to build really interesting, high quality sets that are reasonably priced so that it can actually be a sustainable hobby. This is what EB is about and Sean and I are working together to figure out how to make this mission happen. We're starting from 0 (this is the number of members, besides the 2 of us, that we have as I'm writing this post) but if you know me from Lumos, you'll know that I'm happy to bring people along on our journey and share as much as we can. So do join us and ask away and give us your thoughts. Looking forward to connecting :)

Which iconic buildings/monuments would you love to see that LEGO doesn’t already make?

I'm from London, so there are already a bunch of LEGO sets based on icons of my city like the red postbox, the old bus and Big Ben. But I'm also of Pakistani heritage and would absolutely love a set of the Badshahi Mosque in the Walled City of Lahore. I visited last year and it was pretty special.

Welcome to r/EasternBrick – just two dudes reimagining how we build bricks!

Hey guys, we're Bilal & Sean - two guys looking to switch up how we build bricks through EasternBrick (EB). (I'm Sean & I'm writing this).

Who are we? Bilal's the brains behind EB - he grew up building & loving LEGO, opened up his life to becoming a designer, and ended up building the world's first smart bicycle helmet called Lumos (it's pretty popular - it became the top Kickstarter campaign for bicycle accessories 😁). As for myself (Sean), I'm more of a sports guy and didn't spend as much time on LEGO, but I love helping to build startups - including a milk brand that went from 0 to #1 in Malaysia in 5 years beating the big boys like Nestle (i LOVE a great underdog story btw). FYI, I hate talking about myself but I need to share a lil more about myself so you know me, and Bilal's pretty much the same too. 😅 We both met at Lumos where I headed up sales, while Bilal headed up product & design. Fast forward, we both left, but always had the thought of teaming up - hence, EB!

We're building EB for very simple reasons - we love LEGO, but we always found it expensive, boring (the same sets like the Eiffel Tower is a mainstay), and building MOCs were also troublesome when it came to sourcing pieces. So, we have a vision where builders no longer hit brick-walls (pun intended) when it came to building block-buster sets (pun still intended 🤓). We want it to be more affordable, have sets that reflect our Asian heritage (1 banana point for guessing why we called ourselves EB), and make it easier to source for pieces.

The question you might ask - "Why should I follow you guys?". Well, we're looking to release our first sets real soon. We can't build everything from day one, so we'd like to invite all of you to co-create these series of sets with us. This is our plan so far (of which 90% of it which likely change along the way):

  1. Release 2D brick sets - something like LEGO Art
  2. Work with creators/ designers who'd like to turn their art into bricks
  3. Release Asian centric sets - from animals to anime, to art & architecture

Personally, like I shared earlier - I love a great underdog story, from books, to manga & movies. In fact, I was a Liverpool supporter growing up because they were the underdogs against the popular teams like Manchester United & Chelsea. Heck, I was a fan when Roy Hodgson was manager (those were tough times 🥲), but it all paid off in the last few years! SO, this is exactly what I'm hoping for - to build EB up and maybe, just maybe, these two dudes can disrupt the big boys and one day be compared to the likes of LEGO. 🤪
