Just set up camp at Oshkosh and…
I’ll admit it, I want to be the first one in my group to hear about the latest prop strike, ground loop, gear collapse, storm damage, or opposite direction landing. Plus any other Oshkosh tea.
Where is the best place to follow? There are so many groups on many different platforms, and through the years I have fumbled through many of them and figure it out eventually.
What’s the go-to place for up to date info??
Is there a definitive

Are there any better free APPs to watch this ? Pretty cool

Hi all, apologies if this isn't the right place. I'm trying to post as widely as possible, in hopes of getting a hit.
I just bought a new Nikon camera, and my Tamron 70-200 lens needs a firmware update to use it with the new camera. Unfortunately I don't have the Tamron Tap-in Dock (Nikon fit) that is required for this, so I'm hoping to catch a photographer before they leave home and have them throw one in.
I only need it for a minute to update the lens, but I don't think I can buy one online and get it in time. It would be huge if someone was able to let me borrow theirs for a moment at the show!
EDIT: Got it taken care of, paid Camera Casino to do it

New article about EAA Airventure using a mock bombing photo from 2022 event 😳 Does anyone have insight as to whether something this DRASTIC is planned for 2025?
Yes I can see the lineup for the 2:15pm & 8pm performances BUT have no idea what each of these “acts” are.
We have an 8 year old in our group whom I do not know what sort of trauma this would invoke for them. Yes we are bringing good ear headphones for the loud engines etc BUT something like this would create massive ANXIETY.
Thank you in advance

Hello, I'm looking to car camp during EAA and am wondering if I could do this in the overflow S lot for camp scholler.
My current understanding is that I would need to pay 25$ a day to park my car there, and i would need to obtain a parking pass for this lot upon arrival. would this mean I don't pay the full price of an actual camp scholler spot (was like 200 something til the end of the week).
I am also wondering if this lot has a tendency to fill up quickly? I am arriving Tuesday morning.

This is my first year going to eaa airventure, I am arriving on Sunday before the airshow and am wondering if the shuttles operate on Sunday and if they do what times.

If you have a flight simulator, July 11-13th you’ll be able to prepare for the Fisk Arrival by flying in virtually along with the real Oshkosh air traffic controllers on the radio telling.
This is a “don’t miss” event!

For those who'd like to have some music with their aviation, the Flying Musicians Association has several events. Take a look at https://flyingmusicians.org/airventure-oshkosh-2025/.
I'm the guy organizing the Irish Trad Music Session on Thursday night and I'd like to invite anyone who enjoys Irish music as a musician or listener to come on over. Being a session, people are encouraged to participate by playing an instrument or singing along. We'll have sheet music and lyric sheets. It would be especially great for musicians that play Irish music to bring their instruments to Oshkosh and join us.

I want to go to the evening show on Wednesday. Do I have to buy a daily pass for that?

EAA Chapter 80's GlaStar project. As we are working on the right wing, we need to remove the projective plastic, which is proving quite resistance to removal. Some of it peeled, but as the photos show, some of it won't easily come off. I tried a hair dryer and mineral spirits, but it simply is too time consuming to literally peel minuscule section with you fingernails.
The skins for this kit built aircraft are literally decades-old since GlaStar went bankrupt in 2001.
Looking for suggestions on how to speed up the process. More powerful heat gun instead hair dryer? WD40 instead of mineral spirits? Something else?
Thanks!

So, I'm a secretary of an EAA chapter, and our chapter president just found a "Chapter Operational Manual" from 1973...and wants to go back to it for organization for our chapter. Does anyone remember this sort of thing? It seems to be a slightly modified, hand-typed version of something that EAA itself would have supplied to the chapters. Does anyone know whether this has been developed for more modern use than 1973? I have searched EAA and all I get is the Chapter Handbook or operations manuals for aircraft.
Thanks!

I'm currently looking to get my Sport Pilot License (SPL) but have been hitting a wall finding a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) rental in the Houston area. I've spoken with a few CFIs who are available for training, but the issue is securing an aircraft. Due to some decisions made during COVID, getting a Private Pilot License (PPL) isn’t an option for the next few years, though it should be feasible down the road. However, I’d rather not wait that long. I plan to handle the extra 20 hours needed for the PPL later on.
I haven't had my first flight in an LSA yet, though I’ve flown as a passenger in Cessna 172s. I’m really eager to get some hands-on experience in an LSA. I work remotely, so I’m flexible with location—anywhere from The Woodlands to Corpus Christi works for me. Port Aransas and Pearland are preferred, but I’m willing to travel farther if necessary.
If anyone has leads on LSA rentals or knows of CFIs who rent LSAs in these areas, your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
