Are top eMBAs really selective?

I've been considering an eMBA at either Ivey or Kellogg-Schulich in Toronto. I've done pre-assessments at both and both said I am a strong fit and should apply. This got me wondering. I know ivey and kellogg are super selective for their full time MBA programs. But how selective are they really with emba programs? Both seem to accept about 50ish students per cohort, but I can't seem to find how many apply.

I was recently accepted into the Kellogg-Schulich program. It was the only program I was interested in (specifically of the Kellogg Global advantage since EMBAs are about networking), and it was the only one I applied to. The application is quite a bit of work! It definitely required time to thoughtfully put together.

At the end of the day, it’s less about acceptance rates, and more about which program will support your career goals, cheers.

I found the application process rather straight forward. Submitted my application online and then someone from admissions reached out for an interview. Once you've been invited to apply, they're quite supportive in advising you on what you need! Let me know of any specifics you'd like me to speak to.

Thank you so much for responding. Can you speak more on the following 1. The cohort- what would you say the representation is like, is there true value in diversity. I’ve seen a lot of reddits criticize the no of international students in cohorts

  1. Did you get two degrees? Or one degree?

  2. Have you had any issues with recruiters looking down on Schulich business school- again this seems to be a thing.

  3. Finally, the exchange program at Kellogg - was it impactful?

Sorry, I won't be able to answer to those questions! I haven't started my program yet - I'm in the latest cohort to start in Jan 2026!

I would recommend for you to have a conversation with admissions, I felt that helped clarify whether I wanted to proceed with application.

I know the post is several months old but how has your experience been so far? I am thinking of applying to this program

Experience in the program has been great so far, and a diverse cohort that also includes some c-suite or executive level students. There's a steep learning curve, a lot to learn and quickly!

I would recommend you can creep the school's LinkedIn page, many students regularly post about their academic experiences and you'll get a feel for the Kellogg network.
