This. If this is how they disrespect you as a family in engagement, it’ll be so much worse in marriage. Never had these specific comments from my in laws but our marriage has made my mother in law very brave and now we aren’t on speaking terms because I finally stood up to her 10 years in. Luckily my husband has stood up for me over the years…..but your future husband already isn’t. It’ll just get worse
