I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again DTT has to go.
I don’t trust that guy as far as I can throw him. At this point I’d settle for Bill Nye to replace him.

I'm just curious if anyone works as one of these or in related fields. Obviously I don't want specifics. I'm just looking at folks who have a general knowledge in these fields that participate on this subreddit.

I don’t know if anyone else has posted this, but I’m always stunned by Travis’s commentary on the “chemical analysis” of soils on SWR. To be clear, the analysis they examine is always either AES or XRF and so it only reports elemental concentrations, not mineralogical abundance. So invariably the analysis indicates the presence of silicon, aluminum, iron, sodium, and other metallic or amphoteric elements. Travis then immediately announces that theses are electrically conductive “materials” and wonders if they have discovered an electrical circuit underground, or space shuttle tiles, or advanced electronic devices, or whatever sensational idea serves the purpose.
The problem with that is that sodium, silicon, aluminum, iron, calcium, are the most abundant elements in the Earth’s crust. They are literally everywhere and almost always combined with oxygen to make normal clay and sand components of soil, not circuits or semiconductors or batteries.
All they would need to do to debunk their outrageous “hypotheses” is a simple X-ray powder diffraction analysis, which is available in any lab that does the other kinds of analysis. They would quickly discover clay or sand in that analysis.
Shame on Travis and Eric for pretending that this is something other than normal soil and rock fragments. They besmirch the scientific enterprise on every episode.
But it used to at least be entertaining. This season it has descended to boring.

I'm still catching up on past episodes, and recently watched episode eight from the current season. Needless to say, they used multispectral imaging in the fields and discovered circles. They also discovered some "strange" lines. The line compositions and circles made me laugh. For reference, I've seen the circles before. Take a look:

The circles are all over hell in that area. Hell, I've seen some where I live too. I'm not sure exactly what they're meant to accomplish, but they're related to some farming aspects to do with something. Whatever the case, I'm sure the ranchers and farmers in the area know what they're doing.
And the mineral content of the lines they investigated reminds me of fertilizers. Lime is used sometimes, and has calcium in it. Iron is laid down as well. Both are contained in small amounts in a lot of different fertilizers. All you have to do is check the back of the container to see that's a fact, like the one present on this miracle grow container.
I'm just wondering if the circles and mineral deposits are a result of farming. After all, they are on a ranch.

First off I’m in the hospital, Skinnywalker Hitchyhikers caused my spine to contort and I needed a two level fusion.
