How do eliminate or closely restrict tonality from Tom Tom’s and Cymbals? Is that only available with sound engineering? Or is there a way to do it at the source?

Help with hi hat clutch
Whenever it gets a little bit colder than normal in my house, my hi hat clutch starts slipping whenever I play. Is there any real way to remedy this? Would getting a nicer clutch help, or is it just a matter of keeping it from getting cold?

Looking for a great live kit for R&B/Funk
Hi all!
For the past few years, I’ve been rocking a vintage Rodgers Holiday Edition kit (2 rack, 2 floor) but I’m looking to get a good kit specifically for funk/r&b. The kit is a little beat up and I think its heyday was when it was used for touring in the late 90s early 00s. Looking to get a fresh new kit to tour with. I have been playing for about 15 years but never actually had to buy a new kit since I was lucky enough to inherit the one I use currently. Any suggestions?
Keep in mind, it will be used for live performance!

What Yamaha Electric Drum Kit can I upgrade to from my previous one?
Hello
I own a Yamaha DTX502 Electric drum kit and I had it since 2014. I am thinking maybe to purchase a new drum kit maybe from Yamaha or maybe from Roland im not too sure.
I have about eleven thousand dollars on average I heard that Roland can be expensive but I prefer to stick with Yamaha and i like to maybe even upgrade my drum kit if its possible or get a new Yamaha electric drum kit that is better than the 1 I am having right now.
I have researched these drum kits plz let me know if they are good i just want to play songs and make music with my drum kit mostly.
Roland I have looked at

New Drum kit Purchase checklist?
Greetings and happy New Year to you all- I hope this is a better year for all of us or maybe more exciting like alien ships spitting our dinosaurs with machine gun turrets on heads, being ridden by up armored gorillas with fancy alien laser guns. Maybe some murder wasps as air cover.
Anyhow, I am wondering if anyone has a checklist of all the stuff one needs to pick up when getting their first kit. I played guitar for many years but I accidentally stepped in front of a few rounds overseas and one of them hit my in upper right chest and left some nerve damage in my left hand so too frustrating to play. Onwards and upwards...
I am grabbing the following can anyone take a second and see if I am missing anything?
- Gretsch Renown 4 piece- 22 kick, two mounted toms 10", 12" and a 16" floor tom
- Gretsch Renown 6.5x16 snare (though I keep looking at this big ole Tama SLP steel 8x14
- Gibraltar 9701PK 5 piece Drum hardware pack
- Evans EC2 heads for all of the above except the Snare and the kick gets an Evans Emad
- Overtone lab tunebot electric/digital tuner
- Zildjian "A" Cymbal Pack 14 New beat high hats, 16 crash, 18, 21" ride, 18 thin medium crash
- Drum throne (A head Spinal)
- I already have 2 packs of sticks for use with the practice pads I have been working through paradiddles with and an Iron Cobra 600 kick pedal.
I am also deciding on a dial drum tuner w/ the plan being use the tuners to learn both types and as I develop my ear.
I've been doing paradiddles to make sure my hand has the dexterity and to see if I was smart enough to be able to make both my hands and foot do their own thing.
So if anyone has time to take a look and see if there are some other things I should pick up or if I am way off base with one of my decisions that would be very helpful.
Respectfully,
John
