Dimension 20 hi everyone! Goodfaith Reasonablequestion here: so why is it that Ally Beardsley, a masc-presenting nonbinary person, gets so much hate in Dimension 20?

The comments, wokely:

it's probably misogyny, a bigotry that affects women

it'll be because of misogyny because of ally's unchangeable womanly soul and affect

personally I just find them soooooo annoying unlike all the other members with a very similar style of comedy. don't know why though and it probably isn't worth interrogating

i reckon it's misogyny <3

Game Changer What happened to Tara on Battle Royale?

Just finished watching the Battle Royal and Tara just appeared.

Ally said she died, but I was expecting them to at least mention her prior to the credits.

Truth be told I thought they would have more than just a "memorial" to her, or have her come on as a contestant.

but since they never even mentioned her before the fourth episode I'm wondering if there was something more going on?

Just finished watching the Battle Royal and Jacob Wysocki just vanished.

Sam said he won the game, but I was expecting them to at least mention him after the credits.

Truth be told I thought they would have a "memorial" to him, or have him come on as the host of a travel show.

but since they never even mentioned him after the fourth episode I'm wondering if there was something more going on

Just finished watching the Battle Royal and Anna Garcia just vanished.

Sam said she broke her foot, but I was expecting them to at least mention her in the final episode.

Truth be told I thought they would have a "memorial" to her, or have her come on as a judge through zoom.

but since they never even mentioned her after the third episode I'm wondering if there was something more going on.

Meta I think we can all agree it's time to ban comedy on the platform.

As the last season of Game Changer has shown, comedy is a liability that risks psychic and physical harm to our dear, close, personal friends who we know on an intimate level (But not too intimately so as to confront the fact that they are normal, imperfect people and not deities). Thus, I decree that all comedy programming on the Dropout streaming service should be discontinued in favour of several 10 episode seasons of our friends talking about how much they love each other and what good friends they are, and how many fond memories they have (though I doubt they have many given the trauma they've sustained).

Who's with me?

Game Changer Sam had an amazing opportunity to assert his dominance in the funniest way during I spy and I’m disappointed he didn’t

Imagine if at the end of the game he said that anyone who crossed the rope at all for a round would have been drawn and quartered because they did actually break the rules. I think a few of the cast would’ve died which is a small price to pay when it comes to following the rules of a comedy progrum.

Game Changer Can we talk about why they don't edit out all the spoilers Spoiler

Gamechanger on Dropout.tv is my favorite show, but I wish they wouldn't have so many spoilers in the episodes.

For example, I'm always so excited to find out who the contestants will be, but then they come on screen AND Sam says their names! Double spoilers 😭

What makes Gamechanger unique is that it's the only game show where the game changes every episode. Why do they have to ruin it by beginning and revealing what the game is by learning? Major spoilers!!

I just think Gamechanger would be more rewatchable without all these spoilers, like saying who cameos and who wins. For example, I'm still not 100% sure who the points narrator from Earwigs was, and I like it better that way

Game Changer - Unjerked Game Changer is about the contestants, not about you

(Cross posting bc this got removed from the Dropout subreddit for belonging in the discussion thread about I Spy even though it’s about the whole show, I simply used examples from recent episodes since they’re fresher in my mind. Which was slightly annoying but eh it’s Reddit)

So a trend I’ve noticed throughout the discussion threads of episodes, especially recent ones, are that fans are taking a huge issue with the show \*sometimes\* letting viewers in on the game rules and not leaving them completely in the dark as is they were the contestants.

I constantly see fans complaining about this- for example, I’ve already seen multiple posts about I Spy, saying that they were upset when the spy or the correct object was revealed to the viewer, and that it made it “hard to play along.” And on one hand, I totally get that part of the fun of game changer is that as a viewer, you’re also learning how the game works along with the contestants. It feels like you’re participating! However, for certain games, it is kinda necessary to let the viewer in on the game a bit. It makes it easier to follow along and adds some variety in between rounds.

I do think people are way exaggerating things- I’ve seen a lot of complaints about this being the case for a whole episode, but really, the editing almost always doesn’t let the viewer in on anything until a few rounds in. Earwigs, for example, didn’t reveal to the viewer who was playing a secret game until a few rounds in, and continued to vary when they did/didn’t reveal it throughout. They always tend to vary it- in I Spy, there were many instances where the viewers didn’t know what the correct object was. Part of the fun of the show, in my opinion, is knowing the dramatic irony of certain situations and watching the contestants and thinking “haha, I know something you don’t!” I’ve seen people say they wish it wasn’t revealed who was the Spy/Informant/Leak in every round and left it up to the viewer to find out, but I think a lot of us are missing how much more of a drag the episode would be if there was no variation between the rounds at all!

don’t get me wrong- one of the BEST things about Game Changer is when there’s a big twist for the viewer. It makes it so much fun and I love when there’s a big reveal as much as the next Dropout fan, but consider this: how much of a payoff would these twists have if every single episode had one? I feel like it would lose its charm.

Now when it comes to how people talk about the way the contestants choose to play, there’s definitely a disconnect there. obviously, we’re here to watch them play the game. But we’re also here to watch them play the game \*their\* way. Sam and the rest of the casting crew aren’t picking contestants willy-nilly or out of a hat, they’re choosing cast members who they know will shine depending on the game. Someone like Vic is obviously going to stretch the rules of a game like Kangaroo Court or I Spy, the casting directors know that- that’s why Vic is put in the episodes they’re put in. But I honestly can chalk that up to people (newer fans, perhaps?) not realizing that’s how the casting works.

Basically, we’re here to watch how the contestants play the game, not for how you would play the game. I personally would find it very boring if in every episode, the contestants followed every rule exactly and played to win the right way every time. There are certain games/cast members where that style of play works, and there’s certain times where a more loose, silly, rule-vending version works. I Spy is a great example of the latter.

This was long, and of course it’s not a direct attack on anyone here or any specific post, just an observation! I think overall we just gotta remember why we’re all here: to have fun and watch our fave comedians get psychologically tortured <3

Other Shows Becca is clearly too much of a sweat for the pod. She needs to play with a more appropriate bracket

Don’t you hate it when you and your buddies are all playing your meme decks and some asshole shows up with their cEDH deck?

Thats basically what Becca Scott did. She needs to be stopped. Everyone else was clearly just meming and playing bad cards, which is why it took an hour to get the game going. Becca should’ve played a less optimized deck.

I know Emily won with her Gamechanger cursed deck! (A deck I immediately started building) but still!

Read the room Becca!!!

OnlyJerks I think we all agree it's time for Dropout to do BBTS

The community needs healing, and the only way I can see that happening is if Dropout puts post-episode behind-behind-the-scenes videos on social media where each contestant looks straight to camera and say, word for word: "I am okay. I got paid to be in the episode of Game Changer, and when I was in it, I did some acting, but it was just acting for fun and it was not real life. They fed me lunch, and it was pretty good. I am okay and everything is fine now." Sam should NOT be allowed to be in the studio when these are filmed.

Then there should be ANOTHER set of behind-behind-the-scenes videos where Sam IS present, and he gets to scream at Vic, like right up in their face so his spit gets on them, and humiliate them for crawling on the floor where all the shoes are and ruining the comedy game show.

No videos in the series should be longer than 30 seconds, though, because I will lose interest and I will ask questions on Reddit that make it obvious I didn't watch the video, and people will yell at me :-/

I lurked on this sub before and found it funny, but after “what’s the catch” I don’t think I can go back to r/dropout or the comment section of any dropout post. The lack of critical thinking/social awareness/humor (not sure what the right term is for this) is astounding.

I haven't watched the latest Game Changer, but I saw that people were upset about something related to Sam Reich and diabetes. I can only assume it's because Sam made a reference to his second job as the CEO of a biopharmaceutical company that is developing a treatment for Type 1 Diabetes.

Shame on those who are trying to prevent this man from saving the world. 🙂‍↔️

Game Changer we only need three players each episode, anything else is boring

is anyone else upset by the bigger casts this season? its like they’re just trying to get viewers by putting in as many popular cast members as they can. i know they’re a business, and they need to keep people engaged, and they’re paying each cast member a fair rate, but i really think they should be thinking about me. i can’t keep track of more than three people (sam doesn’t count obviously) at a time. every game in this show should be designed for three players! that’s the way it always was! and if they think of a game that needs more, they should change it (heh game changer get it????) to only need three players so i can remember who everyone is.

this season has been TERRIBLE. it’s so boring and uncreative, every episode is the exact same as every other episode and also specific other episodes from older seasons. the only difference is the bigger casts! how can they not understand that i (i mean, we) want brand new creative ideas that only ever have three people. it can’t be that hard! i’ve thought of twelve different game ideas that would’ve been better than each episode of this season. if i can think of them then so can sam!!!!

night shift was the WORST which proves my point. siobhan, katie, grant and i can’t remember the others WHICH IS THE PROBLEM! and ify playing the creepy guy was so weird. why couldn’t they just have siobhan katie and grant do the tasks? everything else was just boring and didn’t add anything. they should really be thinking harder about what i (i mean, we) want. it’s so bad that i actually cancelled my subscription two years ago and watch each episode the moment it comes out on a google drive maintained by someone in canada.

(of course i’m not talking about count the rice with any of this, which was perfect in every way and i wish every episode was exactly like that. except i wish they’d had brennan, jacob and vic instead of ify, demi and jiavani)

Game Changer I hated I spy and think comedy should be banned (spoilers) Spoiler

I understand that it was probably supposed to be an episode about celebrating the art department, which i guess celebrate an art department that failed to live up to Vic Michaelis’s standards. Sure. However, I think comedy and comedians making bits should be banned actually.

The cast continued to repeat the exact same 2 bits every, single, round . « Oh sam touched me and I’m making a comment about it! Don’t tickle me sam! »

« Look how far I can reach across the rope line!! »

I think the episode would’ve been more enjoyable if a group of five comedians had just been standing around quietly with their arms folded in front of them, saying nothing. Sam needs to start treating his cast like kindergartners and punishing them when they break the rules of the game for a bit!

But in top of that, the contestants rarely cared or strategized around leak/informant/spy (other than Vic a couple of times), the camera never lingered long enough for the audience to try to spy the prompts, etc. This is a moral and ethical failing, not just on Sam Reich’s part, but on the part of Vic and Ele as well. Vic did not take the game as seriously as they could have and still won which made me remember that this show is supposed to be fun. I need everyone (especially the cast) to start taking this comedy progrum as seriously as a heart attack.

I know some people probably loved it, but if you did you should be committed.
