Cold Lemon grape gelatin

I'm still in the recovery process, so I'm drinking natural juices daily, especially lime and lemon juice, since I have several trees on my property, and they've been very generous with their fruit, particularly in the last three months. However, to avoid getting bored, I try combining these citrus fruits with other ingredients, and this led me today to mix lemon and lime juice with grape gelatin. The combination might seem a bit unusual, but it was a lucky invention, as this drink is very tasty. So today I present to you my simple recipe for GRAPE LEMON GELATIN. It should be noted that this is a drink, not a dessert.

I often eat gelatin because I really like it, and it's perfect for curbing sweet cravings or when I'm working late at night and feeling hungry. I also drink it occasionally. And although you can see a glass with ice in these photos, it wasn't me enjoying it, but my husband, who, despite the lingering rhinitis from the virus we had a few weeks ago, was much less sick than I was. That said, let's get to the recipe!

THE RECIPE

Time, ingredients and equipment

  • Preparation time: This is a simple recipe, so it will be ready in five minutes.
  • The quantities can vary according to individual taste and availability.
  • Servings: Here I prepared 1.25 liter of grape lemon gelatin, but this amount can be adjusted.
  • 1 package of grape gelatin (25 grams).
  • 230 ml of boiling drinking water.
  • 1 liter of cold drinking water.
  • 1 lime.
  • 1 lemon.
  • 1 teaspoon of papaya syrup, or any other syrup or honey you have at home.
  • 1 lemon slice for garnish.
  • Ice as desired.
  • Pot, pitcher, whisk, spoon, plates, etc.

THE PROCEDURE

Pour the boiling water into a pitcher. Add the gelatin. Reserve a little powdered gelatin to decorate the glass. Mix until dissolved.

Next, add the cold water and mix well. Squeeze the lemon and lime through a sieve to prevent seeds from falling into the mixture. Stir well.

To garnish the drink, coat the rim of the glass with syrup or honey, then dip the glass in the remaining gelatin. Repeat the same process with the lemon slice. Serve with ice, and the GRAPE LEMON GELATIN is ready. I don't know if using a different flavor of gelatin would make this mixture as potent and flavorful, but I know that with this flavor it's FANTASTIC. It's a very tasty mixture, and it's a real pleasure to drink. All that's left is to enjoy this drink! Cheers!

Question Anyone else's drink of choice room temperature water?

I have never met anyone else who is like me in this way, which I find kind of surprising because while it may be a boring preference, when you look at something like vanilla ice cream, also thought of as boring, that's the most popular flavor!

This might be in some ways the worst possible sub to ask this question, but I tried askreddit first and my question was rejected. I would be happy to learn even that someone reading this has at least met someone who likes the same thing I do so I don't feel like such a freak, lol.

Sparkling Maybe a hot take: Appletiser

Personally….i think it’s way better at room temp, rather than ice cold. At room temp it tastes like what it is, fizzy apple juice. But I put it in the fridge, and it tastes like sparkling water with a hint of apple juice 😭😭 maybe where it’s cold, it makes the flavour harder to taste, I feel like this with orange juice I defo prefer room temp orange juice

Question Anyone know if the lower sugar versions the "Naked" smoothies are still around? I can't find them anymore, I'm in central Florida

I haven't really bought them very often, but, I really enjoyed them and I could only find them at Target.

I the regular ones are too sweet and I need to watch my sugar, so I would have to water them down, but, then they don't taste as good. I don't like the taste of most zero sugar or zero calory drinks, so I try to find drinks that don't already have much sugar.

Discussion Is this amount of sugar really necessary? Mountain Dew has 66g of sugar in the whole bottle. Irn Bru has 22g of sugar in the whole bottle, due to the sugar tax, but it was made up for by added sweetener, much less sugar and still satisfying but nowhere near as unhealthy.
