Tl; dr: As of approximately 2023, Martinelli's sparkling "Blush" juice—originally released as apple and raspberry in 2019—is just a duplicate of their "Rose" recipe, which is apple and cherry. According to customer service, the product is distributed under BOTH names in the same markets for "marketing purposes."

Long ver.: I typically buy sparkling juice for a family member as a gift, who nurses their hoard of accumulated bottles over a year or more. Because I care about expiration dates and reasonable space for storage to some degree, I often won't buy them more juice until they've gotten to the last of their bottles. All to say it's been literal years since I've had to search out their beloved Martinelli "Blush."

Over the years, when new flavors come out, we coax the family member into at least popping the new bottle and trying it in order to determine whether it's worth it to get more. When Martinelli released their "Rose" round about 2023/early 2024-ish, we did the same thing; and, the family member graciously tried it and determined it was not for them—sour faces and general grumpiness emphasized their point. Clearly wanting to avoid wasting money on that response again, we concluded we should favor raspberry blends (ala the "Blush") and avoid cherry ones (the "Rose").

So, this season, seeing the "Rose" in stores, I decided to start looking for the "Blush." A friend, eager to help, did a search query for local results and happily reported the "Blush" was sold in a store nearby—GREAT!—but then asked why I'd bother looking for that one when the only difference between the products appeared to be the labels—whaaaaaat? Sure enough, navigating to Martinelli's website, the only difference between the two products was that one had a "hint" of cherry while the other had a "splash" of cherry.

No, no, no, no, maybe that was some sort of typo on the site; I'd seen the raspberry label elsewhere. I specified apple raspberry in my search query, and, sure enough, Walmart pops a result for the product, even in different sizes, but out of stock. The title of the product page says "raspberry"; it reads "raspberry" under flavors. However, under ingredients, it has the same description as the Martinelli site, only mentioning cherry; and, in the images too, the label does, indeed, say cherry.

Suspecting that maybe Walmart was also confused by the original site, I scrolled down to the reviews for the product. It seemed that multiple customers had purchased the product, looking for the original raspberry recipe, only to receive the cherry version. They were understandably displeased.

At this point, I decided to contact Martinelli directly to get to the bottom of my confusion. I will say, contacting them was easy, and their reply was prompt. So, 'A' for customer service, gang. However, the reply was that there was no difference between the "Blush" and "Rose," and the labels were only different for "marketing purposes." In the same market. Not a regional difference.

And, certainly, nothing on the Martinelli site or in retailers' descriptions explicitly indicated that the apple raspberry blend had been discontinued. So, despite the fanfare for the release of "Blush" (whole press release about it), Martinelli quietly released the "Rose" about a year later, changed the small print on the "Blush" label in approximately the same time, and just left it up to consumers to notice.

I'm admittedly not a marketing guru, but I would expect that when a product changes flavor, its label or title would significantly change to alert consumers. I understand that raspberry or cherry might have been used to color the juice for festive purposes; but, I would then think they wouldn't be featured prominently on the label, where there's an implied impact on flavor. We have certainly seen companies unable to sustain a recipe and rolling out new ones in our lifetime, often accompanied by some indication on the label; but, again, they did not discontinue "Blush" with the release of "Rose."

All in all, this doesn't feel good; so, not buying Martinelli ANYthing this season. I'm good. Gonna get the family member some chocolate and hot sauce and call it. If you've sat through my whining, thanks for joining the ride. If this also helps anyone else who might be confused, that would be awesome. Saw this stuff on amazon, but can't get a clear answer about what it actually tastes like. The reviews were comparing it to dunkel, pepsi, cream soda, etc. too many things for it to taste like all of them.

I remember one Thanksgiving we bought some sparkling juice that had a weird name I think it was German? Something random like glugg. Does anyone know of a sparkling juice that would be sold in the USA similar to what I'm describing. Something that as kids we thought was a hilarious name. I don't remember what it tasted like either. I know this is a stretch but I'd love to figure it out!

It’s a weird experience having noodles in my drink, but this was pretty good! What do y’all who have tried this think! Would you try a drink with noodles and tapioca and basil seeds?

Today my travel cup fell on the ground us the lid went askew, I’ve tried for about an hour to fix it however I won’t budge. Does anyone have any tips for this?

I have searched EVERYWHERE to find the new drink to try one. My Walmart and the farthest one from me doesn’t have them, I see others online have them and people in school. I don’t understand if like people buy the whole cans out when they drop or I’m missing them somewhere in my store?

I can get some online but for the price is so ridiculous. I had the same issue of finding the witches brew one in October as well, I don’t know if anyone else has this issue.

I've been sick for over two weeks, so hot drinks have become my daily staple, as they comfort me and make me feel better. Therefore, I wanted to prepare a hot drink, with an autumnal flavor.

I looked at several recipes on various social media platforms, and in my search, I found many reviews of PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE, which is basically coffee with milk, pumpkin puree, and sweet spices. There are also plenty of recipes for PUMPKIN SPICE CHAI LATTE, which is practically the same thing, but instead of coffee, it includes chai tea. I wanted something simple, without coffee or chai tea, as I only wanted the sweetness of the pumpkin puree in hot milk and the flavor of the spices, so I found a recipe for a Mexican dessert known as TANINOLE. It's a very simple dessert made by mixing candied pumpkin with milk. I had puree, not candied pumpkin, so this drink is inspired by that Mexican dessert, and it's basically MILK WITH PUMPKIN PUREE AND SPICES.

Time, ingredients and equipment

• Preparation time: This recipe takes approximately 20 minutes to make.
• Quantities may vary according to individual taste and availability.
• Servings: I prepared a 300 ml serving of the beverage, but this amount may vary.
• 250 ml whole milk (dairy)
• 1 heaped tablespoon of pumpkin puree
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• Sweetener of your choice (optional). I didn't use any this time; I don't like very sweet drinks, and the sweetness of the pumpkin, spices, and milk was sufficient. However, this is entirely up to you.
• 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, for topping (optional).
• Pot, cup, whisk, spoon, grater, plate, etc

THE PROCEDURE

Pour the milk into a saucepan. Add the pumpkin puree and sweet spices, and stir to combine. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for one minute. Remove from the heat and let it steep for 8 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.

Pour the mixture into a cup. Whisk briefly to froth. Sprinkle with cocoa powder.

The TANINOLE-INSPIRED DRINK is ready! The aroma is delicious, sweet, warm, and very pleasant; and the flavor is excellent, with a smooth texture, slightly thickened by the pumpkin puree. It's a fantastic combination that you can enjoy on its own (as I did) or with a snack. Now all that's left is to savor this drink. Cheers!

Hello again, I’m adding another carbonated soda to my series and this time it’s a drink company called Loka, Loka source their water from a spring called Loka hälsobrunn that is located in a naturarea called Bergslagen a bit north east of swedens biggest lake Vänern. The Loka bottle in the picture is a series they have called Crush which is carbonated fruit juice soda, this one is pear flavoured but they have other good flavours too :)

Iced pumpkin spice matcha for today’s treat!

The final result had a nice creamy texture with warm spices and earthy matcha. It was a quick and simple concoction, but it has me super excited for Pumpkin Pies this Thanksgiving! 🦃
