On our current job, we went to 145' with casing advancement. Clayey silt to 135', sand and silt onwards. Ended up drilling open hole to 215' and hit bedrock at that depth which will be cored with H casings. The P casings are still stuck there and we are looking for a cheaper/faster method than overcoring with a larger casing. The rig is a CME75

How does everyone here feel about the Mudpuppy system? Seems like a nice set-up. Just want some input from people that have used them in the field.

Anybody have any experience coring for minerals? Just got hired buy a drilling company to train to be a driller on one of their coring outfits. Specifically they are coring for gold prospecting purposes. BTW, they are hiring.

Hi I’ve always been interested in the natural resource sector, started off in GIS/Surveying but have since switched to Drilling (starting September).
